Thats the linkt o my original topic, but I suppose I should put it here as well. I've downloaded QTP before and had it work, and recently I wanted to install and play Oblivion again until Skyrim comes out, but I cant seem to get QTP3 to work. I've tried 3 versions of the mod. The OMOD that is in the mirror tab, the self extracting version on planetelderscrolls, and the Redimized version. All seem to have the same effect. Now, if you look at my topic in the technical help forum, the chronology goes like this:

Installed the game

Installed SI and Addons

Installed OBMM, BOSS, and OBSE

Installed Unofficial Patch

Installed Qarl's Texture Pack

Now from here, I tried following the ReadMe, but apparently its outdated and I ended up altering my files. So I reinstalled the game, got to the same point, and then I tried running the mod as is. Didnt work so I tried it with the other versions. Still didn't work, so I tried downloading ArchiveInvalid Invalidated with all the versions and it still didn't work. Yes, that means I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game at least a dozen times now.

I thought maybe it was just the inside of the prison cell, so I went through the tutorial and went outside but nothing changed. This is what I end up with:

My texture size is set to Large, my Oblivion.ini has no errors. I made sure that AI Invalidated came first in the archive list order when I had it. I can't seem to get the mod to work, and I need help :/

Assuming you have installed everything ok, it must be an ArchiveInvalidation problem.

I don't use AI Invalidated, but as much as I understand this tool does the same as OBMM with it's BSA redirection. And that does not work for me either. Probably because I use modified bsa's for testing purposes, and therefore the timestamp are changed.

What works for me is OBMM's "BSA Invalidation" only. So I suggest you give it a try. Good luck.

Yeah for some reason it's not working for me. The other thread says it all. I've been trying EVERYTHING.

I scanned that thread briefly, but could not see anything which points at OBMM "BSA Invalidation" mode.

The one which creates a ArchiveInvalidation.txt in your Oblivion folder (which lists all your new texture files)

TRY THIS, and then say that you tried everything :)

That didn't work either :/

It did create a list of a bunch of textures and meshes, but it gave the same effect as redirection did. There has to be something wrong directly with the mod or it's link with my installation, because other mods show up fine.

Have you tried unpacking your BSA's (meshes and textures) and then installing QTP3? You would still need to use ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated.bsa (don't unpack THAT one!!!), Install that before you do it and delete the Archive Invalidation.txt.

Oh back up the BSA's of course.

A bunch of textures and meshes ... how many? At least 3000?

There is no link between the mod and your installation (except through obmm). Not even an .esp file, because QTP only replaces standard meshes and textures. So if they are installed, you will simply find a large folder structure under \data\meshes, and \data\textures. If this folder structure exists, then the mod is installed correctly.

You can check by extracting the omod with obmm ("Extract to folder"). Or for a quick test: do you have at least 97 .dds files in your \data\textures\architecture\anvil directory?
