ruger1022
I'm using NMM and have done the edits in the mydocuments games folder. The problem is I can't get to the file selection screen when I launch Fallout 4. It just provides the Play, Options, Support, and Exit options.I know for Fallout NV it would give me a list of mods to enable. What have I screwed up?Included is a screen cap of the changes made to the Fallout4.ini, Fallout4Custom.ini and Fallout4prefs.ini
wax2k
The built-in file manager in the Fallout launcher had been hidden behind a certain spot on the power armor head in the initial release and access to it has been completely removed since the retail patch 1.2.37. You can use other mod managers like NMM or install the mods manually. I'd recommend to use NMM. And make sure to launch the game directly from NMM to keep the Fallout launcher from clearing your plugins.txt over and over again. ruger1022
I use NMM to launch it but it goes right to the launcher.
wax2k
Did you update NMM? It shouldn't do so anymore. Edited January 30, 2016 by wax2k
ruger1022
It asked me to update it today, and I did. I just checked, I am up to date on NMM according to the download page. Edited January 30, 2016 by ruger1022
wax2k
Did you manually exchange the names of Fallout4.exe and Fallout4Launcher.exe beforehand? I am asking because I know, that's also an advice often given to avoid that issue. Otherwise, that shouldn't happen. Take a look at the Fallout 4 tab in the settings menu of NMM. The line "Command" below "Custom Launch Command" should be empty or point to Fallout4.exe, not the Launcher. You still could make the plugins.txt read-only and allow only NMM to override that when asked. That way the launcher also shouldn't be able to clear the plugins.txt anymore. ruger1022
I haven't done anything with the .exe files and left that as NMM started. I'll check the plugin files
