  1. Alright... I had hoped for a little bit more feedback, but I guess there's at least a bit of interest still, so I'll just leave it here. If any moderator ever thinks this is too outdated or not useful anymore, feel free to unpin or delete it. A big "Thank You!" to the Fallout 4 modding community, especially Gambit77, Ethreon, NovaCoru, Sarinia and mac2636 for great mods, helpful advice and just being awesome people. Farewell and see y'all in another universe!
  2. So you used the phrase "shut up" in the title and twice in your post, but you didn't try to search for "shut up"? ;) Apart from that, there is also http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10570/?
  3. Hi guys, long time no see  For the past days I tried to get into Fallout 4 again but in the end I had to accept that it just doesn't grab me anymore. I finally deleted my whole installation including all saves, mods and customizations. So why do I post this here? Well, I know that the guide includes some deprecated information especially considering certain mods. On the other hand, I think it still has a lot of valuable general help to offer, so I am not sure, what to do with it. I won't be updating it anymore due to lack of time, motivation and knowledge about current mods and problems with them, so the question is: Is the guide still helpful in its current state? Should I just keep it here? Should I get it unpinned or should I even delete it? I'd love to hear your opinions on that and I also included a poll in the original post so you guys can vote on it. I will be looking at the responses and the poll over the next days and then base my decision on that. Hopefully there will be at least some feedback to help me with that  Thanks in advance! wax
  4. Should suffice to once drop all the affected items and pick them back up.
  5. Also crashing when entering build mode or browsing certain categories in build mode is often related to not having the meshes of the mod(s) installed correctly. Try installing the mods manually or copying the \meshes folder(s) of these mods manually. You can also refer to the CTD-section of my guide. While parts concerning specific mods might be outdated, most of the general advice still applies.
  6. Install AWKCR and activate Armorsmith Extended.esp.
  7. Update AWKCR. See also: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3482685-valdacils-item-sorting/?p=53007008
  8. Haven't read the whole thread and so I don't know, if it has been suggested yet, but if you haven't already: try moving all except the current savegame file to another folder, so the game only has access to the current one. I have had stuttering issues related to the size and amount of savegame files.
  9. The workshop category keyword limit has been fixed / raised. Dunno about the subject of this thread though.
  10. Just a guess: maybe you chose a too high value for the health, so it "overflows" into other variables? Have you tried just a moderate change to the values?
  11. CTD at startup means either missing master files or wrong load order. Since you didn't install / remove mods and since you mention having used LOOT, it's very probable, that one or more master files have been moved below their referring files in load order. If you post your complete load order (preferrably in spoiler tags), we might take a guess at the culprit(s).
  12. @monsta14: None of the settlement mods I know make any kind of UI changes, so it's very improbable that it's related to one of them. It's either an issue with screen resolution or any kind of UI modification. In your thread you mention you already tried renaming/deleting your \interface folder, which would also have been my first advice, since that's where most UI mod files should be located. But there might also be interface-related mod files in \Fallout 4\data, like a widescreen.ba2 or similar for example. Other than that, I'd probably play around with the screen resolution to see, if the upper part shows up again. And if everything fails, it's always best to go back to plain vanilla to see if the problem persists. If yes, do a complete and clean reinstall. If not, try adding in the mods in small packs or even one by one until the issue arises again, thus narrowing it down to the culprit.
  13. Either your ini-edits (especially the ones for archive invalidation) aren't correct or for some reason the custom assets (like textures, meshes and so on) from your mods weren't copied to the correct folders. Your Fallout4Custom.ini has to have the following lines: [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal=
  14. Spring Cleaning in its own should be fine, at least the latest version(s). Until now, it's the only "Scrap more" mod, that doesn't trigger the cell reset bug. Unfortunately it has compatibility issues with later versions of Fallout 4 and the DLCs as well as some other mods. The triggering mod(s) in your case have to be some other ones, like No Halloween Decorations (probably) and SpringCleaningCompatibilityPatch (most definitely) and there might be more in your load order. But if using the workaround mods is ok for you, then you shouldn't have issues for the most part. Just keep in mind that the bug is not yet fixed and might occur again in certain circumstances.
  15. Reverting the worldspace cell edit should prevent the bug from being triggered again, unless you have more mods doing worldspace cell edits. In that case, you'd either have to track them down and remove them as well or use the aforementioned workaround mods. The most common ones are most scrapping mods, mods that change the size of settlement areas and mods that add or change stuff in worldspace (like your edit does). Going back to an older save is only necessary, if you lost something important and want to have it back. Also I have seen some rumour about Bethesda fixing the cell reset bug, but I don't know if or when that'll happen or if it already should have happened with any of their latest updates.
  16. You mean the unofficial list provided by someone digging around in the game files prior to the release of the DLC? Because there has been no official announcement stating that there would be any new settlement objects in the Far Harbor DLC
  17. Editing outdoor cells in worldspace triggers the cell reset bug affecting pre-placed vanilla containers and found / stolen power armor frames placed in these cells. Either undo the edit or use the two mods that work around the bug by replacing pre-placed vanilla containers and allowing to replace unsafe power armor frames. To recover any lost power armor parts, you will have to revert to a savegame prior to triggering the bug.
  18. @masani23: Since the category keyword cap has been lifted in one of the last patches, you don't have to use SK anymore, unless you use any mod that requires it. I am not playing FO4 at the moment and so I haven't tried out the latest mods, but as far as I can see, there are two working expansions to the original SK with slightly different approaches: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12226/? http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12647/? Make sure to read and follow the mod descriptions.
  19. @KnightBlade2: Losing items by changing the load order mostly means conflicting mods, which would need a compatibility patch. In these cases, the mod lower in load order "wins" by overriding the conflicting entries of previously loaded mods. A compatibility patch merges the conflicting entries into one file and by loading this after the conflicting mods, it "wins" over them. The first two digits of a base item id are always representing the load order # of the file that introduces said item, so it will always change when changing the load order. This is a base mechanic in Elder Scrolls and Fallout for DLC and mods. It does not affect items already created and it does not affect creating new items via a crafting workbench or similar. It only affects creation of the item via the console, because there you have to manually input the correct current base id. So: go look for known incompatibilites on your mod's file pages and for possible compatibility patches.
  20. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misconception should link to this thread...
  21. @sunshangxiang: If you have CTD issues and already tried everything mentioned in the guide and other threads in this forum without success, you should post your own thread and describe your issues there. Include as much information as possible (when did it start, when exactly does it happen, what did you already try to fix it, which mods are you using, load order etc.).
  22. @Lonewolf1968: You probably should wait until Bethesda officially releases the GECK and opens up the Steam workshop for Fallout 4, if that worked for you in Skyrim. Modding pre-GECK and modding either manually or by using NMM means a bit more than just "one-click gratification". And: yes, the term "modding" includes "using mods", since you are modifying your vanilla game by altering it with downloaded, user-made files. You either have to supress your desire or get deeper into the subject. Your decision.
  23. If you didn't download and install NMM (Nexus Mod Manager) beforehand, clicking the "Download with Manager" button does not do anything for you. I am not sure, if modding is the best idea for you. Judging from your self-description, it's like asking "How do I do a backflip on a motocross-bike?" after just having learned how to ride a bicycle without falling off. You might want to look for basic tutorials on modding in general, modding Fallout 4 in particular and using NMM, if you're willing to put in the effort and learn.
  24. If you used the "Download with Manager" button, you downloaded it with NMM and will find it in there and can install and enable it in there.
