Solsagann
Hey I recently stumbled upon a weird problem earlier while trying to load my Fallout save. The "this save relies on content that is no longer present" message popped up, even though I hadn't downloaded any new mod for a few days and played the game in the meantime without encountering any problems. I tried loading the save just to see what went wrong, and none of my mods were working. I also tried disabling all of them after leaving the game and activating them back right after but it didn't change anything.I'm currently using the following mods : Armorsmith ExtendedMinutemen General RetextureStackable Wood FoundationsAKCRSKSSEXSnap'n BuildLore Friendly PostersM2216 Standalone Assault RifleAll of these mods have always been working perfectly until today. I use the NMM (0.61.4 at the moment) for a couple of years and I've never encountered this problem before, with Skyrim or DAO.
wax2k
Don't launch Fallout through Steam or the Fallout Launcher. Make your plugins.txt read-only and only allow NMM to override that and launch Fallout directly from NMM. Also update NMM, because this issue has been adressed in some update as well. If you don't use NMM, make the plugins.txt read-only so the Fallout Launcher can't clear it every time and only change that when editing it yourself. It has been an issue with the Fallout launcher since the first updates to Fallout. Edited January 30, 2016 by wax2k
Riessa
How do I make the plugins read only? I am having this problem with homemaker and ponytail variations.
wax2k
Like every other file in windows: right click on it in Windows Explorer / select Properties / check "read-only" or "write protected" (dunno how it's called exactly, my Windows is not in english) and save it. Riessa
tyvm Wax. That did the trick. You only learn by asking (or fiddling with things and messin em up. lol). Now that I got things fixed I can get on with playing the game.

wax2k
Nope... plugins.txt is the file that holds your load order. Should be in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Fallout4.

Should be in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Fallout4.I did make this file read-only, I checked it and it does hold my load order. I then deactivated and reactivated all my plugins and mods. But I still get the same problem with all my saves. (thanks for your quick reply though!) wax2k
That message should only up, when either having disabled, removed, reconfigured, downgraded or updated a mod in comparison to the mod setup that was used when that savegame was made. It could also show up when just renaming any of the plugins. Hard to guess, what exactly happened there if you can't recall doing anything like that. Did you notice anything from one or more of your mods missing/not working in game? Lost items, buildings, whatever? Edit: just reread your original post. So... still until now, none of your mods are working ingame, even though they all are listed in the read-only plugins.txt and the files are in the \Fallout 4\data folder?
