AdoringStan
I'm pretty sure that this won't be happening, but I would really enjoy seeing clothes have physics. I would at least like the engine to support it, that way modders could add it in in the future. Thoughts?
hector530
im not sure but with all these interviews i thought i saw one of them talking about the plates of the armor moving when running or sprinting. edit: trying to find evidence of this, im replaying the skyrim gameplay trailer at 1:26 the giant has a bone and skull belt if look closely it seems that the bones move Independently from each other with every step he takes... hmmm... Iv000
There is a very little detail that looks like it has cloth physics, or it's just animated cloth. In the trailer, after the giant, 1:26 look at the guy who is walking through the village in a robe, now to see this you have to have the trailer in fullscreen at 720p.Look at his legs, very very carefully, it looks like he has a lower body cape that is moving physically.Thoughts? NAPALM13092
I am sure they will animate scripted movements on certain pieces of armor but I would like to see capes, cloaks, hoods, etc. with their own skeletons and physics. Won't be a game breaker for me if they don't do it but it would be nice.
scot
You´r right lv000 and also I already mention it in another post, if you look close at 1:36/37 when the character does the fire burst spell we can see that the lower part of the rob goes up, if it´s not physics it´s something similar XD

AdoringStan
I'm getting really excited now! I've never really been a graphics prostitute, but I LOVE when the clothes have physics in games! It looks so nice! edit: wait... I don't remember using the word prostitute.... does this forum change words up? Edited April 28, 2011 by Link01000
Kendo 2
Looking at the video, the movement of the legs and the shifting cloth on the robe makes me think it is simple walking animations with clothing rigged and weighted to the skeleton. Nothing special. I know character physics can be done, look at torches in Oblivion. The flames move and flow with the characters' movements. If they can do that they can physics soft cloth and even hair. Will they do it? Probably not since they are trimming all the fat off the game. I wish they would though. I REALLY wish they would add physics.
Zenchii
You´r right lv000 and also I already mention it in another post, if you look close at 1:36/37 when the character does the fire burst spell we can see that the lower part of the rob goes up, if it´s not physics it´s something similar XD look closer and you'll find that the reason why it goes up is because that part of the outfit is stiff as a board. it's the same effect as taping a long piece of cardboard to your back and bending down. I was seriously looking forward to cloth physics too. Edited April 29, 2011 by Zenchii
ita
No cloth physics means there's less graphical fluff that steals time and resources from writing and quest design.
