otis0310
I am currently running blender 2.49b and python 2.71. I had newer versions of each but I read someplace that the nif importing scripts have a problem with later versions, if I am wrong please tell me. Anyway the problem is that when I go to import a nif I get the "no module named logging" error on the console. I admit I have the latest scripts since I just don't know what is compatible with what anymore, but the readme said anything from 2.6 to 3.0 for python 32 bit version and the older 2.49b blender I had worked well until I stopped using it last year (I just stopped modding). Anyway I have reinstalled python, blender, pyffi and the scripts (in that order) at least a half dozen times with no luck. As I said I may have compatibility isssues since I lost track of what scripts are compatible with what blender and what python anymore. I have windows 7 64 bit. So If anyone can help me fix this problem, or give me a link to more recent/reliable versions I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Quetzlsacatanango
Never heard of that one. You're not using 64bit blender are you?
otis0310
no, 32 bit, like the manual said
otis0310
I went to sleep on this and when I woke up I noticed among the list of words in the error message was the text that python was not installed. Thinking I needed a new python version I uninstalled everythin, downloaded python 2.62 which as the version blender used instead of 2.71, Well long story short, it now works, thanks anyway. LHammonds
Yep, I immediately could tell what your problem was in your 1st sentence (2.7). That's why I created this Blender page LHammonds
Blood1911
Its because you're using 2.71. You need to use 2.6.5 or earlier, for me anyways, since nif scripts don't support newer versions of python. Edited May 2, 2011 by Blood1911

I edited the thread title to let others know this problem has been resolved.
