I am in a dillema of sorts. i cant decide between natural enviroments and atmospheric weather mod. I would like some suggestions on what the differences are between these two mods and which has less bugs and a more beutiful scenery as I am struggling to decide which one to choose

I was trying to figure this out, too. I've tried em both, and honestly there's no REAL big difference. However, I do notice with Natural Environments I get snow and rain inside of interiors often. I dunno if that's the mod, or the other mods I have that may be conflicting, but that's just my observation haha. *shrug*.

Seeing this thread led me do a 'taste test' of both NE and AWS over the last few days to see if there was a clear winner.

To be fair, its only the Natural Weather and Natural Water parts of NE that AWS is in competition with.

HABITAT and VEGETATION will run nicely alongside it. Also, this is only my personal preference obviously so what i find appealing might be exactly what someone else wants least.

To be honest I've always used NE and am used to it, so changing over to AWS would be a different animal to trying both together for the first time. NW is not something i really want to change and so would be hard to improve on. That said, once i started i really wanted just the best look for my game based on results and AWS has such a strong following that i've been switching back and forth scrutinising every part of both impartially.

I've always been extremely impressed with the weather, water and particularly light elements of NE. I know the lighting has divided many people because of the yellow/brown warmth it gives the daytime but i think that especially with later releases this is definitely a more natural hue, especially on sunny days. You really get a sense of hot afternoons or balmy evenings and it works particularly well with the various insects HABITAT provides. AWS certainly is beautiful too but its more subtle. Both systems do cold and cloudy very well, probably equally so but NW really nails sultry heat for places like Bravil and Anvil.

The one feature of NW i instantly noticed was missing when i switched was the solar glare or flaring which occurs when the sun emerges from behind a building or a hill. I kinda missed that. I think it gives a realistic feel to the light. After all, this is what the sun does, even Nirn's (presumably). The night sky in NW with its masses of stars is also a bit more impressive. AWS's seems slightly empty by comparison..

Dealing with actual weather effects i think is where AWS outdoes NW. The rain seems wetter if thats possible. The fog is incredibly well realised and thunderstorms are scary. Is it just me or does NW not actually have a lightning effect? Try as i might i cannot get lightning to flash. It has never happened. Only thunder.

.

People will say AWS has ten million weather or sky conditions, and thats almost true but in game you can't really tell from four or five types of each unless all you do is watch the weather. Same goes for NW so this i feel is one for the stat lovers. The reality for me at least is that both of them are brilliant. I genuinely couldn't say that either of them was better.

Natural Weather might be my favourite but i think i'll use Atmospheric Weather System for a while.
