Help with blender.

I'm trying to import a mesh into blender but I can't import nif files. I went to the addons and searched for nif in the import export section and nothing showed up. Can someone help me please?

First, I must ask, did you actually download and install the add-on? If so, I do believe you need to be using blender 2.49.

No, I just installed blender and I went to addons and clicked import export and then searched for nif and there was nothing there. I followed this guide http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/Blender/Beginners_Guide

One needs to follow these steps~ I did myself a few months ago. It even links you to a single place to download the right versions, right here on the nexus. Follow it carefully.

If there are further issues, I'll see what I can do.

Is there a way to do it without installing Python or PyFFI?

I seriously doubt it. You need it for the script that imports nifs to be able to run.

I'm using an old dell laptop and I already have a lot of stuff on it so I may not be able to do it?

They're not very heavy. They're not even full programs. They are very very important though.
