ecksile
I was unaware that bethesda did any testing on its games at all :ermm:
SATMA
Compared to Fallout 3 it's a highly unstable game. Why? What went wrong? Fallout 3: Bethesda made the game and tested it themselves. Fallout New Vegas: Bethesda tested a game made by Obsidian. Bethesda you sure know how to put in less effort when testing other companies' projects to make them look bad. Now everyone hates Obsidian and more love for Bethesda. More claims Obsidian can't make a proper game and more claims they should have let Bethesda make Fallout New Vegas to begin with. You couldn't be more wrong. I got Fallout 3 at launch and I played it through all the major patches and I was contemporary with the release of the DLC, and the game couldn't have been MORE buggy. I still have a procession of Fallout .exes in my main folder named for their patch, because whenever you upgraded from patch to patch you were playing Russian roulette with your game if you didn't hold on to the exe for the last patch, and something in the most recent one messed up your game. I remember one patch in particular - 1.4, 1.5? - which broke every mod which altered an exterior map. There was a relatively simple fix for it on our end, but it was a monumental failure on Bethesda's part. How's this: game software is insanely complicated and any "fix" is almost guaranteed to break something else. Development is more or less like trying to balance china plates on a 5-foot pole with your nose while juggling flaming chain-saws. i beat this on the ps3 and it crashed a lot (before the big patches' date=' i had beaten it by then and finally got my gaming rig up) obsidian also made knights of the old republic 2 which was rushed and buggy. alpha protocol was buggy. its a trend at this point.[/quote']KoTOR 2 was rushed out the door by the execs at LucasArts, months ahead of when the devs thought they were going to release it, because the execs wanted a fat Christmas bonus. sirjohn45
well funny thing with NV I have played it since it came out and with mods no crashes... then update 1.3 hit and now the only way i can play is without any mods, even when i start with a fresh download of entire game etc. a lot have complained about 1.3 and some have even found some of the problems. So kudos to them for their hard work.
evilneko
I think I'm still running 1.2. Like I said haven't had much problem with it. :) Most of my problems with FO3 were mod-related too. I don't think it ever crashed when I was playing vanilla.
ccmechanic2
Actually I didn't have any crashing problems with NV till I discovered this modding site :) I know this post is very old. I also know you may receive a message indicating a response was made to it. That being said, I want to thank you for the best laugh I have had in two weeks. This....This is just to much. In an instant when the words processed in my mind ? I was rolling on the floor, "Grab Gut" tears in my eye's . way to funny from my point of view considering what I have been doing here on this site. Thank you very much. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/laugh.gif
Kayvaan7472
i constantly get CTDs and BSODs playing FO3, i hardly ever get CTDs playing FONV and have never gotten a BSOD. so i have no idea what TC is talking about the reason why FONV is so buggy is because the engine sucks
