ost3g0
North-western PA, USA Using Chicago, IL beta server: 100-120kB/s Not bad at all on a 32meg file. Speeds were very consistent.
Sabardeyn
I've been downloading the UL series to Connecticut on DSL. So far the average is either 90 or 125 kb/s per file (depending on file size). Strangely I've been downloading smaller files tonight. The other day of course I was trying to DL ooo, MMM and Frans! Sabardeyn

buddah
Hello my friend, you wanted some feedback so here is some, I am currently on my broadband card on a high speed dedicated connection, running some downloads of the larger mods to give you some appropriate speeds and information. This I understand, I have downloaded a large file 57 megs, on my connection and while watching somewhat closely through the download speeds are averaging between a low of 55kbs to a high of 83kbs witch is proper with my current connection speed. Did a level trace and a trace route back to the server with another piece of test equipment (HST 3000 by acterna) a highspeed internet testing device and analysis of the results showed a slowing in a particular portion of the virtual path...not caused by your server. Overall the test was a positive experience speeds were about where they should be with my connection, some variances were noted as server connections were opened and closed, but all in all quite acceptable.Someone finally asked for something that I understand.....the internet, how it operates and asked for some information, download speeds are measured in bytes and connections are measured in bits...so accounting for overhead and error detection, control and correction the download speeds in your download window should and do in this case equal 10 to 12 percent of the connection availability. Hope this is somewhat useful. Buddah
chenglingjie
i think it is a good idea to use beta server and have the feedback
ChaironDeCeleste
Hence Chicago and London are only available for stress tests atm, the beta server gets the the full traffic right now.
evphelps
Night and Day!Old = 0 - 60k tops :( New = 20 - 600 WOOHOO! :D Mostly from EU server (I am in London UK) but the other 2 are similar,I just choose the local for preference...The relatively small (50M) file size limit means I don't get a lot of time to observe much else on my 8meg connection ;) Fantastic work guys :) :) :)
