GoldenHope25
So I've been playing for a while, just now got around level 30.Running about 12 mods that use MCM including Convenient Horses,Realistic Needs and Diseases, Bathing in Skyrim, HDT High Heels... Anyway I went to disable RN&D so I could do some travelling withoutdying of thirst, and MCM won't let me change anything. I've read severalinstances of people having it lock up for just a few seconds. Thathappened to me a couple of times, but this time it seems permanent. Also, this has eventually happened on several installations of Skyrim. I've tried the command "setstage SKI_ConfigManagerInstance 1"but to no avail. I've also use Jaxonz MCM Kicker. Still nothing. I carefully uninstalled the scriptedmods following the authors' directions, annnnnnndstill no solution. I've pretty much spent the last week and a half searching the 'net for a solution, but nothing hasworked yet. One more thing I should note is that I can load anearlier save... from about 10 levels ago... and itworks fine, so I'm somewhat convinced there issomething wrong with my save. You know... the onewith the most progress  Any help would be greatly appreciated
sLoPpYdOtBiGhOlE
As a guess RND or one of your other mcm mods is doing a large loop or calling Start on a quest or caling some other lattent function from directly in a control event in the MCM script..Which in turn will lock up the mcm menu until the loop finishes or the quest it call start on or other lattent function returns. Calling lattent functions and running large loops in a control/config event in a MCM scipt is the biggest reason for the symptoms your describing, as for fixing your issue I have no idea. What is needed though is for the author of the mod to correct what they are doing in the MCM script so this type thing doesn't happen in the first place.(no disrespect meant to the mod author/s, as these types of things are easy to overlook when making large scripted mods). GoldenHope25
Yeah that's what I've heard is the likely cause. But I (carefully) uninstalled all scripted modsand that didn't help. But I don't know what I'm talking about. For all I know there may beremnants of those scripts still running in MCM. :P Hopefully a solution will turn up soon. If I knew exactly which mod was causing the issue,I'd contact the author and politely let them know there is an infinite loop in their script.
