I have an Idea!!

Alright, I have an idea. :excl:

First off, I play the 360 version, why, my computer sucks. Anyway, I love looking at all these cool mods for Oblivion, and I wish there was a way for me to do it... but I think I may have found a way!!

Well, for the 360, you can update your Oblivion with a patches that you can download and they're always free, but patches change things that aren't suposed to happen right. Like glitches and problems in the game. But listen to this, If I were to copy the patch file to an iPod, then put it on my computer, would I then be able to hack/edit it anyway I want, then put it back into the 360?

If any of you people know if this is possible, please reply, I must hack Oblivion! (O)_(O)

Sorry, that has already been tried and the result was rather devastating. The person's xbox 360 became bugged and rejected any patches or downloads after the incident. Even if you did get it to work, the 360 does not have as much memory as most computers so while computers may download many if not all the mods around, the 360 could only download a few before running out of space. Sorry, but it just isn't possible.

The patches Oblivion uses are binary patches, they work like this:

go to rad 4025, number 46543 and change it to 100011110.

go to rad 5794, number 43 and change it to 1000111.

and so on. . .

It would be hard to add some new stuffs to it, but it can be possible if you use the same patch creator that Oblivion use (maby only work for pc) you can change your oblivion master file and then create a new patch. That you upload to your box and patch with.

yes, but the risks are great and a xbox 360 could only download simple mods as more complex ones such as texture changes would not go in as the 360 version is more hard coded than the pc version. so even if it could work (which it can't) you could only download simple mods and even then only a few of them as the 360 version would run out of memory for the mods. there are just too many obstacles.

and it would be illegal, reverse engineering of a game isn't so legal :P
