SilverSmog
Hey guys! I've recently got dragon age inquisition and opened the game. After that I decided to install some mods like "those eyes". Merging failed though and I got the error above. I unistalled and reinstalled the game and tried to use mod manager v.0.59 i think again but the task failed again. I've seen many links in this site to files that can fix the problem but none of them navigates me to any files any more. Also when I open the task manager I can't even merge the official patch which has an X next to it, while all the other mods don't and I get a message that the mods are incompatible with my patch/version. Any ideas or any links that could help?
Nanaleu
I encounter the same problem. Could it be because my game isnt original, but cracked? Could someone help? Here how it looks (it says "unable to read beyond the end of stream"):http://i64.tinypic.com/znpwk5.jpg

gabrielsquall
Same error also, checked everything, net framework, admin rights, mods not being in the same folder than the manager, moving en.sb & en.toc and no use, still getting the same error. Deleted23328924User
Hello I had the same problem / error message as I use the mod manager for the first time. Finally it was because I did not have the latest version of it, therefore I ask: did you have downloaded the mod manager from here? Because the latest version is v0.59 alpha ( DAITools Suite Loader ) and you can get it here: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/693/?Which version has your patch? As far as I know version 12 is the latest and for me it works fine. http://fs5.directupload.net/images/160221/6raraum8.png Maybe this will help, if you have not tried the solution from knightmire? Like many of you, I was plagued by the "Unable to read beyond the end of the stream" issue, but finally I found a workaround.I read all these posts and even deleted all the other languages I had in my patch folder (since im using english anyways).I even downloaded one of Renmiri's premade merges, copied over the folders and started the game but they didn't show up.After a few more failed attempts, I remembered someone saying that repairing the game fixed theirs.I didn't repair mine but it made me think; since the issue seems to be with the EN files maybe they are at fault here. With that in mind, this is what I did that finally worked...1) Navigate to your game folder and to \Update\Patch\data\Win32\loctext\2) Create a new folder and move both files; en.sb and en.toc as backups. (you will need these)3) Download any merge zip from this forum, open it and copy those 2 files to \Update\Patch\data\Win32\loctext\4) Now run the Mod Manager and follow the directions (as you probably have already tried multiple times).5) If you are like me, you will find it completed successfully now, but the game will fail to run properly. Don't worry..6) Go back and overwrite those 2 files in \Update\Patch\data\Win32\loctext\ with the backup copies you made.7) Launch the game. Both mods (soft Cass and black logo uniform) working perfectly in my deluxe game version! If you need the files mentioned above find them here.daitools.freeforums.org/dai-mod-manager-end-of-stream-t206.html Did you have entered the correct Mod Path and Dragon Age Path? http://fs5.directupload.net/images/160221/9mhhlbih.png Sorry, I don't know how I can help you otherwise at the moment. :( And @ gabrielsquall: No, this is the only way to install mods, it only works with the mod manager. gabrielsquall
Problem solved, seems like I had some old mods installed without the manager that were causing the error.Clean install and the problem was solved.
