Kozar
My little brother bought New Vegas, the Steam version just like I have, and is having the damnedest time getting it to work. For the first while the thing wouldn't even boot up to the first time activation. Now the best he has gotten towards getting the game even running is the Error 83 message. I have yet to replicate even this. The most I have achieved when trying to get it running myself is to start it up and then get a windows send error report/don't send error report to Microsoft. Another thing to note is that FO3 won't run on his computer either and it is a non steam version. I've noticed that the non-steam FO3 won't run on my other brother's pc either. The three things they have in common are that they are both media center PC's, both run Windows and both have AMD processors coupled with ATI Radeon graphics cards. I can only specutlate that the CPU or the graphics cards have some hand in this, but I'll leave that judgement to those of you experts.
BigBodZod
Are you stating that both of your brothers are running Windows Media Player machines ??? Are they both running the same kind, i.e., based on Windows XP or the newer version based on Vista/Windows 7 ? I that that Windows 7 Pro and above have Media Center built in, not sure about Vista however. I'm going to assume that both machines can run some games, is this correct ??? The way both of them could tell is to go to the Control Panel and open the System applet and note the Windows Version and Build Numbers. For instance my Windows 7 Pro has a build number of 7600. I think you can also click on the run option and in the open line type in cmd and click OK, now use the ver or version command to see the Windows Version and Build Number. Also, can you find out if either of these machines are using the onboard graphics or a separate graphics card and which models they happen to be. bben46
First lets make sure his computer can run the games. Just because it's new doesn't mean it will work. Using the computer you plan to play the game onGo here to see if your computer can run the gamehttp://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ You will find the various game we support Oblivion listed as 'The Elder Scrolls IV, OblivionFallout3 as Fallout3 PC Dragon Age listed as Dragon age Fallout New Vegas as Fallout: New VegasMorrowind is not listed, However if you can run Oblivion at all it should run well on your system. Note: TES V - Skyrim is not listed yet as no one knows what the final requirements will be yet.
