[BUG] [SOLVED] "Missing components" error while attempting to start ModBuddy

The link works fine for me.

I've redownloaded SDK recently and it contains the correct version of Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Isolated Shell now.

steamapps\common\XCOM 2 SDK\Binaries\Redist\vs_isoshell.exe

You can try to run your executable. If it is the wrong version, delete it and let Steam verify integrity of tool cache (Library > Tools > right click on XCOM 2 Development Tools and select Properties > go to Local files tab > Verify integrity of tool cache). Steam should redownload the correct version.

Does having a copy of the game itself installed matter, or can I just verify the tool? I've attempted to verify/redownload the tool the past day or so with no luck, and the 404's when following the link... so I'm rather confused... I'll try verifying and if that fails redownloading... hopefully that settles the issue for me.

The game doesn't matter, just try to delete the file in SDK and verify the tool.

Don't give up

I found another download link in case verificating fails. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Other-Programming-Files/Visual-Studio-Shell.shtml

Drakous79 (btw)... you wouldn't happen to know where online someone could find the EU3 documentation file in CHM format, PDF -- zipped -- whatever? I had once installed the UDK (3.5) to test some old processing steps for LW, but i've decided to take it off my drive just in case the Firaxis version would interfere with special settings or registry calls.

The Unreal Website is a superb way to find anything -- but, it's just online looping stuff.

EDIT... ooooppppsss -- found something here; http://www.tianocore.org/udk/udk2015/

It's a 2015 version - but it should have good info anyway.

EDIT2; I'll be darned. That was the wrong UDK product. Disregard the above!!!! :(

Azworai, when you have it downloaded, you should install it and than you should be able to start XCOM ModBuddy.

Zyx, another find, but still it is for UE4 and dl link is working: https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?7348-PDF-for-UE4-Documentation-Available

Maybe you could use some software to download UE3 online documentation. Something like HTTrack or

  Reveal hidden contents

I've checked my UDK 2011 and there is only SpeedTree compiler and FaceFX chms.

Got it to launch now, thanks Drak! Now to learn how to tinker with it, my only experience with modding being Bethesda titles(Morrowind and Skyrim). See you around!
