fallout 4 graphics problem? after update

Hi all,

 

Since the recent update, I've been having a hard time playing Fallout 4 because I cannot see everything clearly. I had this problem before but I think the game managed to fix itself. I've taken out all of my mods, replaced them, tried experimenting with the fallout4Pref.ini file, but nothing is working.

Looks like a massive texture issue. I'd suggest uninstalling the game and removing all files and re-download everything and start from scratch. You can try fixing the texture files, I'm sure the full install will be quicker and give less headaches.

If I re-install would it work if I saved my current game files and use them after I re-install or would I have to start completely over?

Your save games should be fine unless they themselves are corrupted. Unlike what some people seem to believe, mods nest themselves into your save game and are still present although not 'active', when you remove them.

 

To compare you can always just check with a new game to see if the problem persists. If it does then it's not your save game. It's also possible that a mod introduced the problems. Installing this mod correctly might fix it as well.

I just re-installed the game again and tried to play without any mods and its doing the same thing.

For those of you having similar problem after the most recent update (1.3.47) appearing glitchy or corrupt the update is causing it. I downgraded back to 1.2.37 and my game is working perfectly like before. Here's a link to the instructions that I followed. I hope it works for others. Good luck!

I downgraded back to 1.2.37 and my game is working perfectly like before. Here's a link to the instructions that I followed. I hope it works for others. Good luck!

I doubt it, the game runs perfectly fine on my machine. There's a some people that have issues, but most people are not. I'm not so sure the update is causing this.

You may doubt all you want. Fact is, you have another machine. Bugs happen, and they dont have to affect everyone. If someone has problems with 1.3 and everything works perfect with 1.2, something has changed with 1.3 causing the problem. You may be fine with the patch, while others are not. Thats computers.
