Caiman Posted February 6, 2016 Share Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) Hi fellas, While I'm starting to get a little more orientated within the Modbuddy, I encountered something that differs from the Quickstart Tutorial PDF and throws me off the rails: When I press "Start Debugging" it does build my Example Mod and it does start Xcom 2, but Xcom 2 isn't showing any Mods (and won't load any apparently). I can neither load modded saves nor does my Mod show up in a new campaign. http://i.imgur.com/WN6xV4U.png Has anyone else encountered this? Is it an option I forgot to enable? Amineri Posted February 6, 2016 Share Posted February 6, 2016 I see the problem, in your screenshot. Your source folder is still named "ExampleWeapon" and needs to be renamed "BlueGun". The config files all look correct. However the config files and the CompileScripts run by the SDK (it's in a dll) are trying to compile the source folder "BlueGun", and can't find it, hence the build failing. Being the hack-ey modder that I am, I sometimes open up the sln and proj files in NP++ (they are just xml files) and edit stuff directly instead of working through the VS Shell. Sometimes deleting or renaming files within the VS Shell can be a bit glitchy, so when it flakes I just hack into the xml files. Neither that nor my gun show up in my clean save. p.p.s.: When I start a new campaign and try to load both, the Col-16 shows up, but not my "Blue Gun". To get a item to show up in an existing campaign, you need to set up your X2DownloadableContentInfo.uc to add the weapon to the XCOM Inventory. The ExampleWeapon mod should include a copy of this file, but you'll need to modify it for the name or your item. In this case, I'm referring to a technical use of name, a name in Unrealscript is an object defined with single quotes, like : ItemTemplate = ItemMgr.FindItemTemplate('ModWeapon_CV'); This name should correspond to the name you used when creating the item template, like : `CREATE_X2TEMPLATE(class'X2WeaponTemplate', Template, 'ModWeapon_CV'); --------------- As for creating the weapon in a new campaign, that requires a definition in the template of : Template.StartingItem = true; The campaign initiation code picks this up and auto-creates any item with this tag when a campaign is started. Turns out the name of that folder in SRC wasn't changed outside of the MB. Also I copied the X2DownloadableContentInfo.uc from a fresh Template and overwrote the file in WindowsExplorer. Now it finally showed up in a new campaign! :DThanks for the extensive help.Interestingly enough it still doesn't show up in a clean save, even though the example code in X2DownloadableContentInfo.uc was supposed to do that.
