Could some one please retexture the M82a3 AMR ?

Hello guys, I'm not quite good with English so I will just make it short and simple.

Could anyone please retexture the M82a3 Anti-material Rifle from amoveve ?

He did a great job with the gun, but seem like the texture isn't that good.

Hi all,

 

What kind of textures would you be looking for? I'm no professional by any means, but I certainly have experience with .dds conversion, vector graphics, photo editing, and the like. Do you want a particular camo applied to the weapon or perhaps, as was mentioned by crawe1x, a rougher looking metal?

 

I have considered creating a new texture for my own benefit, but it would seem that I am not alone in this desire. Just let me know what you all are looking for and I'm sure I could try and meet your needs. :D

For me, I really just want something that looks like it's been around in the wastelands for a while. A bit of rust, a few scratches, etc. In other words, something that doesn't look like it's just been bought off the shelf. Something along the likes of:

Doesn't have to be so extreme as Millenia's scratch shotgun/rifle textures, excellent though they are. Something more subtle is also fine. Anything that fits with the existing vanilla textures would be good. As it stands, in its current state, much as I like this weapon, I just can't bring myself to use it. It just looks odd compared to everything else my character is carrying.

I'm having some trouble getting this to show up in game however. My earlier work was a lot more basic than this, I just threw some camo over the textures and called it a day (that was some years back). Now, I actually did some layering and manipulation of some scratched metal textures. Any suggestions or thoughts on how to get this to show up? I edited the Standart.dds and standart_s.dds files. The only one that I didn't touch was the standart_n.dds, because that shouldn't really change the actual texture so much as the dimensions and "pop" (or something like that).

 

Thoughts?

So far, I think it looks pretty good - I definitely prefer it to the original. So good work. Once it's in the game, it will be easier to judge. Unfortunately, I have no idea about how to get it to show up in the game. My knowledge of modding Bethesda games is VERY limited. Maybe p.m. one of the other weapons textures guys out there?

Yeah, this is definitely a move in the right direction. I think once you get the scratches more area-specific and add the rust it will look really cool.

 

Out of interest, what was the problem with getting the textures to show up in game and how did you resolve it (assuming the explanation isn't too technical)?
