Trying to make a cyborg arm

I'm trying to make a cyborg arm mod for myself similar to this one from New Vegas and Fallout 3. Trouble is, I'm not sure where to start. I've got Nifskope and most of the meshes and textures extracted from the .ba2 files of Fallout 4, but I'm at a loss as to what I actually need to do to make this work.

See, what I want to do is take Liberty Prime's arm and turn it into a wearable sleeve of sorts that makes your character's right arm invisible, essentially "replacing" it with Liberty Prime's (scaled-down to fit, of course). Maybe do the same with other robots as well (Assaultrons, Sentry bots, Synths, etc). With all that in mind, can anyone tell me just what I would need to do in order to make this vision of mine a reality?

Please bear in mind, while I have a general idea of how meshes, bones, and textures work, I'm not very well versed with Nifskope and it's workings, so please be specific in descriptions. Thank you!

Okay, update: I looked up a few tutorials on making mashup-type armor in Nifskope, but when I tried using "Copy Branch" on Liberty Prime's arm and pasting that branch onto a human body, it gave me an error. I tried it with a few other armors, but to no avail. Can anyone help me?

Heh , yeah I'm also having trouble getting my cyberlimbs ingame, granted I haven't had 5 minutes of time since december so I have no idea how the mesh exporting script is going but I'm not seeing a GECK either so, I'm still out of the 'mod game'. Kinda sad because I'd love to give people the mod early but elas.

Anywaaaay I could be wrong but I don't think it still works that way ? I remember doing it for Oblivion but since F3 its not really been possible to just 'mishy mashy Nifscope fastfood armor' by copieing branches. What tutorial was that ? If anything, keep it at Skyrim tutorials and not earlier.

Only thing I know, personally, is that something like that would be to bring the armor in Max, place the arm on it, skin it again (!) ,but anything after that is Nifscope wizardy. Last time I tried my 'body' was invisible and moving crashed the game.

Yeah, that's what I've done just now; exported Liberty Prime and the base male player body as OBJ's and imported them into 3DS Max. I tried deleting whatever I didn't need and shrinking/warping the arm down to an appropriate size, but after an hour or so it's not looking good. I don't know if I'll have the drive to finish this. I wish there was an easier way.

From what I know about 3D type of modding Beth games its that its a whole different dance to get stuff working ingame and easy isn't a thing... I'm sure once you 'find it' it'll become piece of cake but thusfar I haven't seen people share how they do it, and it when they do its just too vague. (but again I haven't been around for awhile, I'll see if I can catch up this weekend)
