Deleted2433418User
so... i re-saw "Judge Dredd" the movie(Stallone edition, not the recent piece of something).. and i got to wondering..Judges would be fun.. as a faction or some sort of order within a faction..the BoS would be obvious but the Institute might also have an interest in absolute power... Since I,already, wander around the wonderful landscape serving immediate justice to any Raider,Mutant,Gunner, synth or other perpetrators of the first law of Me.. "Shooting at my character is punishable by death".. so i thought..why not make it a feature?..maybe Bethesda is already working on it in a dlc or maybe some wiz-kid with skills unobtainable by an old fart like me.. ;-)... anyways.. Would it be a good idea?? or is it just me being the slightly psychotic bastard my friends and family have grown to tolerate???
Junnari
It could be quite interesting as a faction, but I can't really assume that anyone would be able to maintain any kind of large scale legal system in wasteland, at least beyond those used by factions, and by small settlements usually in form of sheriff or similar. But given a background story that would revolve around group acting as non-profit bounty hunters driven more by moral than material gains, one could make really impressive and unique group with possibly some quests (questline & repeatable missions) that would surely work as nice addition to the game. Deleted2433418User
I think you're right..I thought more about it and the idea of a group of Self-appointed Lawmakers would fit in nicely..with all the chaos and given human nature,it would be logical that,like-minded,quasi-moral individuals would unite in an Order of Justice.. plus,it would be awesome to rescue a settler or judging a drug-lord with some semi Eastwood or other Cool guy sentences... like "for crimes against the common good..i sentence you dead... " or capping a Raider then saying "Courts adjourned".. i don't know ;-).. but i think the idea is viable...unless Bethesda and assorted modders think that Morals disappeared with the ability to use soap... TeamBacon
There is nothing wrong with the idea, but it is so vague I almost hesitated to even call it an idea. What I got from this is... - They will be a faction, or not a faction, or part of a faction- They shoot people that shoot at them- Something about power So to me it just sounds like... well... everything that is already in the game. Junnari
(This is my interpretation & application of the idea) In contrast to most other factions, this Order (or whatever it would be called) would operate without similar political background like BoS or Institute, but would simply rotate around the idea of bunch of individuals who act as voluntary vigilantes whose main purpose would be to punish those who've committed moral crimes against denizens of the Commonwealth. The size of it would likely be somewhere between Atom Cats and the Forged, being assembled of 8-16 members with 3-5 key characters. They would ideally be neutral towards the major factions, but would obviously not ignore crimes committed by their members (which could prove to cause issues in long run). Attitude towards synths would be mainly neutral unless provoked. This would leave them being generally hostile against Raiders, Gunners, Super Mutants, and Forged, however due the size of the Order they wouldn't really go directly against these groups but would rather target certain individuals, focusing mainly on hit and run tactics, sniping and stealth, bit like some hut-hut special delta SAS Spetnaz team. They wouldn't be working for power or material gains, but simply as enforcers of moral law. Edited February 11, 2016 by Junnari
Deleted2433418User
Basically i was just following a train of thought..in a world like the Games..it would be natural for powerful individuals to gather a retinue and provide protection in exchange for labor and supplies..basically the beginnings of a feudal system..therefore, i thought it would be consistent with this ,to have a "Knightly",Judicial or whatever you want to call it Order whose goal were like the Orders of old.."Protect the innocent, defend the weak and be an example"...i thought i'd write up some basic background history, maybe a Codex..and then post it here for people to give opinions and suggestions..would it be an idea?? TheVampireDante
Bit like the Fallout 3 version of the Regulators. ( link ) The Regulators are a relatively new group in the Capital Wasteland, having appeared only in 2267 or so. They take it upon themselves to hunt down troublemakers and do their best to keep a semblance of peace wherever they are. Just hopefully with some better equipment.
