Whiterin
I'm not sure when it happened exactly, but the other day when I went to play Fallout 4, I realized that any mods that change or add sound to my game don't work. Even mods that previously worked eg. True Storms and P.A.M.S. I've gone through and made sure my ini files were still correct for mods. I tried using both versions of the Fallout4.ini change. I've tried re-installing the mods. I've verified game files. I'm not sure what's causing the issue. If anyone has a clue as to what could be wrong, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks! wax2k
Check your \Fallout 4\data folder for a Fallout4.ini or other ini files and remove them in case, since they would even override the Fallout4Custom.ini.. Make sure, \Fallout 4\Data\sound still contains the subfolders and custom sound files from your mods. Double-check your Fallout4Custom.ini. It has to have these two lines in the [Archive] section: [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= And also look for similar lines in there with other values and delete them in case. Whiterin
I think I may have figured out the issue. A while back, I moved my Fallout 4 from my storage HDD, to my SSD. I corrected the paths and such, and everything worked at the time. I just figured out though, that the virtual install folder was still on the old HDD. I'm not sure why the mods have worked fine after that until now. Hopefully changing it over will fix the issue.
wax2k
NMM seems to have some issues when having the virtual mod folder on another harddrive, especially with installing custom assets like textures, meshes, sounds and so on.
Whiterin
Yeah, that was the issue. Everything seems to be working now that I've moved everything over to the same drive. I wonder why it didn't cause issues right away instead of taking a while to pop up.
wax2k
Most probably because the issue arises when installing mods, not when using mods that are already installed correctly.
