StanleyTweedle
Hey there, after the 4th playthrough "in a row" of Fallout 3 i'm up to New Vegas.Thing is, i am uncertain to start it in vanilla mode or with all the dlc. In F3 Broken Steel had some unpleasent impacts if started with a new game. Supermutant Overlords appearing very soon, GNR mix-ups (event-talk after waters of life, way before doing the quest, ect)As for Point Lookout, The Pitt and Mothership Zeta, they are well seperated and have, if, only minor impacts outside their setting (Punga Fruit). So, i'd like to know, how the New Vegas DLC work, compared to this. Any New Vegas Vet is invited to share their knowledge. :)
madmongo
The four main DLCs (Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Lonesome Road, and Old World Blues) are all bolt-on things and don't affect much in FNV's main Mojave Desert area. Gun Runner's Arsenal adds weapons which show up in all of the leveled lists. I've never noticed it to be particularly unbalancing, but I play with a lot of weapons mods anyway. Courier's Stash was originally a pre-order benefit that was later released as a DLC. It contains weapons and armor that are supposed to help you a bit when you first start out. I didn't really care for most of the items it added. If you install all of the DLC you end up loaded up like a pack mule at the start of the game. I prefer to start out with basically nothing and work my way up from there, so I just ditched everything that was added into the nearest container and got on with the game.
