Flea17
I've owned Oblivion on Xbox 360 for 6 months or so, but the disc got scratched beyond repair so I couldn't play it any more. So, the other day, I borrowed my mate's Oblivion CD for PC, so I could play it. Today, when I installed it, it came up with an error in the installation process, about 3/4 of the way through. I told it to retry, and it was fine - the installation finished. Then, when I tried to play the game, after the cinematic of the Emperor at the very start, the game crashed. I tried a couple of times, watching the whole cinematic and skipping it, but the game continued to crash.I tried to reinstall it, and this went off without a hitch - no error I had to make it retry on. But, when I tried to run the game this time, it still didn't work, and crashed in exactly the same place as last time. What am I doing wrong, or am I just incredibly unlucky? PanzerOfGod
Maybe your computer can't handle Oblivion well enough?
Flea17
Ah crap my mate told me that my graphics card wasn't good enough, NVIDIA GeForce 5200 when the minimum is 6000 series. Oh well, back to getting the Xbox disc resurfaced and gazing longingly at all these dang PC-only mods...
Flea17
Ok then, we've realized my computer sucks too much to play Oblivion, so I want to uninstall it because it takes up a massive amount of hard-drive space. However, when I enter 'Add or Remove Programs' and hit uninstall Oblivion, it tells me "Cannot load module Ctor.dll" I'm so frustrated, will my torture at the hands of this damned game never end!? Switch
Try using setup.exe on the Oblivion disk itself. That should hopefully allow you to uninstall.
