Frozen NPCS (with AWOP & 40+ mods)

This is a problem that has been getting really bad as of late for me, to such an extent that even after quitting and reloading the game most NPCs remain frozen.

They attack when you get up close but move away and they freeze again, or just stand on the same spot looking around at least.

I am not really insterested in reducing the NPC numbers. I have played through areas with 40+ enemies without this occuring before.

I can't seem to find a good fix for this and I don't fully understand what can cause it.

Someone told me a solution several months ago bit I can't find the post anymore so I'm making a new one.

Any solutions welcome.

I had a similar problem after using the New Vegas Configurator to tweak some performance settings. NPCs would freeze at combat-end. I just put the .ini files back to the way they were.

Hmm, I'm not using anything like that as far as I am aware. Nothing that changes the .ini files unless something I installed previously has done that. Anything I should be looking out for or is that too vague a question?

The most intensive mods I use are:

Active mods:

AWOP & 5 Patches (CaliberX, MonsterMod, BoE, Ahztek & CFW)

IWS (Just the max spawns .esp though I used to get away will all of 'em)

Warzones

Monster Mod

 

Inactive but installed mods:

VVV

HarderThan

Zombie Apocalypse

Sorted! Another dumb mistake on my part. I had an old IWS/MoMod patch that relied on an outdated and unused master file running. It turns out I did not even like the effect it had so it's gone now anyway and so have the frozen NPCs.
