I'm not sure if she actually adds defense if added that way, but otherwise she acts just the usual way. Even uses the dog house if you build one. Same with cats. Just not sure any more if it actually adds the +5 defense, and I don't feel like summoning even more dogs to test, but otherwise she does everything just the same.
