it is funny you should mention this -

there was discussion on the bounty board project,

to make a port of that happen.

this is an EXTREME headscratcher -

so many fans are out there, surely a collab to make this happen would have to be a thing

sooner or later?

 

its not on Moddb, nexus, or anywhere, yet!

 

it would be AWESOME to see robbie the robot, (both the original version, and the stylized reboot but fallout-ified)

and GUNTER B9 "robot" from Lost in Space.

 

there are a few low-res meshes,

though to do this proper justice,

it'd take a few modders, to really make the meshes look just so and texture them,

then get some sound-alikes, because a lot of the audio has noise in the background or

isn't quite up to today's standard...

 

Seeing Robbie the Robots, and them being,

as compared to Protectrons or the like, a retro-futuristic/more advanced in-universe,

would be awesome!

 

having them as a companion, and cutting to Robot interjecting

"danger, |player character|!"

"destroy the Institute, save the commonwealth!"

"that was a mistake"

or

"protect the BoS, protect the Minutemen, destroy all Enclave"

it would be fun to see!

"cogitating" *tape drive whirring noise*

 

if it was compatible with

the base game,

AND worked with Robot Home Defence mod...

it would be VERY popular.

 

my mod fu is woefully not up to this task,

though surely we can get folks together to

make this materialize :smile:

Lol, I think the Protectron is actually based on robbie. The robobrain might be based on the the lost in space robot.

I think you could implement robbie the robot just by adding special protectron armor parts.

 

Not sure about the lost in space robot. The head might look good, but the rest?

indeed, they are all related hehe.

its a nice nod they make to all those.

the protectron and the security bot are very close to it.

 

robbie and GUNTER B9 of course came first extrinsically,

though, in universe, making those models retro-futuristic would be cool!

they're 'high-tech' in the in-universe hehe.

 

as to making them...

yeah, having them be independent of DLCs,

so no DLC required would be EXCELLENT,

and compatible with Robot Home Defence etc.

pure awesome.

"yes, I'll have 2 dozen Robot from Lost In Space defend my Brotherhood of Steel vault" hehe.

 

Robbie would just be different exterior parts added to a Protectron Mesh,

or could be a separate companion or something.

those splines and compound undulating curves near the head would be difficult to model though...

 

Robot from lost in space (the new one)

could be based on a Security Bot with the treads from

the rescaled yellow forklifts in FO4 instead of the treads from

a robo-brain or from the automatron parts...

the hands can be from a re-scaled assault-tron.

a re-scaled liberty prime torso would provide the connectors.

the X-01 torso piece also looks sorta like Robot from the new Lost in Space.

 

if it was standalone, the legs and such could

just be from a protectron for the walking Robot B9 from Lost in Space 1999.

it's the head-piece which would be tricky to get to look just right.

 

The Robot from the original series of Lost in Space will be a little more difficult,

it would probably need to be completely made from scratch

just to get the lighting right and all. :smile:
