No longer able to build stores/Stores revomed from Settlement build list

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a little help concerning something that has happened in my game and I haven't been able to find an answer or even any hint as to what's going on with my game so I thought I'd throw it out there for the mod community as after hours of searching I've still come up with nothing.
Now I'm not sure when this happened as in my game I got addicted to the building and then stopped to go do some story and side missions but now, whenever I open the build menu in the settlements I have now lost the ability to build stores. I have the perks, I have the people and supply lines set up, basically everything that is needed to start building a store but the cash register (I think that's the icon) for the store building has vanished. I do use mods so it is likely that that has something to do with it but since as like I said, I've gone off to do other things in the game but have still been adding mods I don't know which mod it is that has caused the issue. So does anyone have any idea what may have caused this or have a solution that comes to mind? I have tried disabling a lot of my mods and even uninstalling some to see if the build stores icon returns but still no luck, and I don't much fancy having to reinstall the whole game again.

In which settlement did you try this?

 

And post your load oder in spoiler tags so we can actually see which mods you use.

 

Also this guide / ruleset might help you with troubleshooting.

This happens in all settlements, I simply don't have a store icon anymore. And as for my load order, i'll give that a shot to post it with spoilers but I don't use forums much at all so I'm a total noob so apologies if I balls this up.

It's most probably SSEx. Disable it and the Stores mod you downloaded and see if it helps. I'd recommend to get rid of SSEx for several reasons anyways as stated in the linked guide. Consider Homemaker as a well maintained alternative with more and better items and without CTD or savegame corruption issues.

Well I installed Homemaker and wow, I can't believe I haven't been using that all along! So much better. I do still have a couple of issues though.
My stores are back and working so that's good. But on the flip side I have now lost my Food category and I CTD whenever I try to go into the "Clutter" category, every time.
I'll post a slightly updated load list in case I've done something wrong?

Disable and remove Homemaker-Settlement-Keywords-Patch.esp, it's an old and outdated version. Also: never use two different patches for the same thing at once ;)

Ah ok, thank you, i'll try that. I only got the patches as the site page said they were needed. :)

It doesn't say that. It actually says the exact opposite :wink:

Please delete the previous added SK patches, as with the release of the full integration patch they have been supersceded.

Yeah, clearly I misunderstood what I was supposed to install. Thanks. :) That has fixed my food problem, that has returned to the menu however I am still getting the CTD whenever I go into the "Clutter" tab. Not to worry though I guess as I probably wont use much from there.
