cheeseninja333
I was playing New Vegas when my fps of ~45 suddenly dropped to >10 and never improved. Loading back allowed me to play normally for a while, but after 10-15 minutes it would kick in again. I had literally no way to progress. I removed numerous mods but the problem remained. I spent an hour or so looking for a fix but nothing worked. I was somewhat annoyed at this point but I figured the problem was limited to that set of saves and threw 23 levels down the drain as I started a new game. Sure enough, as I went through New Vegas Bounties II at level 27 the exact same thing happened and the game again became unplayable. I still can't find a fix and I sure as hell aren't planning on abandoning another playthrough. If this is indeed possible to fix then I'd greatly appreciate some help. Ichinosa
Have you tried wiping the game from your HDD (or SSD) via Steam; *.ini configuration files (generally found in C:\Users\(Profile Name here)\My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\) an all, reinnstall it and and play the game using graphics options one lower than what you previously used. If the problem persists it may be the amount of free space on your Mechanical Disk (Try Defragging it, this should help with performance a little). try using this to keep your mods seperate from the game so uninstallation is easy if a problem occurs with the game, If you still have this problem it may be your saves; use this as it might help with your problem and greatly reduce the file size.
