Shacary
Ok so I wa s sooo excited for W2 that I preordered. got my collectors edition and cant install it... I keep getting a feature transfer error. {cyclic redundancy check} directed to my D drive [ DVD} so its confusing already and Im wondering is anyone else having issues and I sent an email to atari for tech support as it was the one listed in the user manual. I'm hoping it was some easily fixed patch , altho how does one patch before they can even install ?? GAH!
CommanderCrazy
Your disk is busted. Cyclic Redundancy Check normally means that something is corrupted and so the installer refuses to move it. You should take your disk back in for a replacement.
JimboUK
Try copying the contents of the DVD to a folder on your hard drive and install from there, if you still get the error when transfering the files from the DVD to the HDD then the disk is faulty. mrmysery
The DVD is NOT faulty. This is a widespread epidemic plaguing many people due to an incompatibility with certain DVD drives. the only way to fix this is if you have an alternate computer to put the files onto, and move them to your PC, or to buy a cheap external or DVD drive replacement. Patch is coming in about a week. Don't know if it will fix the issue though.
CommanderCrazy
The DVD is NOT faulty Clearly it is. Both CRC error and it says that a file is missing. Sounds entirely broken to me.
JimboUK
Pressed disks should not have compatibility issues, if this is the case then they will have to replace them.
