Crimsonhawk87
I just now had this same issue. Everything was fine yesterday. But I get home from work this evening and fire up Fallout 4 and try to load my save. I noticed that when I selected Continue (or loaded a save) it stayed on the main screen with the music (instead of going to the black loading screen). Then after about 30 seconds it crashed to desktop. I looked in my Fallout 4 folder and found that the Fallout4.exe had a time stamp from about the time that I started my computer this evening. I went to the Steam Library, and instead of seeing "Fallout 4" I saw "Fallout 4 (Beta)". This is very strange since I have never opted into betas. Anyway, I right-clicked on Fallout 4 Beta and went to properties and then to the Betas tab. I chose the option to opt-out of betas and the game redownloaded. After that I am able to launch Fallout 4 and load my saves with no problem. It appears that Bethesda must have pushed out a beta and I somehow got it even though I never opted into betas. It is the 1.3.47 update. It went out of Beta at the beginning of the month. A small number of mods had incompatible textures, so updating your mods to the latest versions should help prevent any unexpected CTDs. I can attest to a texture problem causing me to CTD when attempting to load a saved game...in my case it was: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9942/?, the box mag mesh was the culprit. Crazy thing is, if I did not use the gun or mod in a play through (I started a new game which also became "corrupted" once I crafted the weapon and mod) everything was fine. IE, all of my older saved games that did not use the weapon (it was downloaded long after I had finished) worked fine. Newer saved games with the weapon crafted CTD'd, newer saves without the weapon crafted and old saves were fine. I bring all of this up to illustrate just how crazy and intricate the mods and textures can be. I got lucky, in that I only needed to uninstall 3 mods to find the culprit, your detective work may not give you results as quickly as mine did, so keep investigating! steve40
No they did do a beta patch yesterday. It crashes my game when I enter the workshop. Ah, I wasn't aware of the new beta until yesterday. It's likely that you have a mod or two that is incompatible with the new beta update.
turk77
After the update, unnofficial mods (Nexus etc...) become disabled and causes instant crash, why bethesda did this, we don't know but they can expect a major drop in their fanbase
