huntsman2310a
what I'm trying to say up there is this: When you load a DDS file into GIMP (with the DDS plugin of course), it won't show the texture in 3D, it can't. Show what it does is show it as a jumble of vaguely familiar parts. What I would like to know is if there is a simple way to tell which part of the armour is which (what with the original being 3d and all), please don't say "just eyeball it" because I think there is a simple way to do it. *edit* And which compression is the best to use Edited May 20, 2011 by huntsman2310a
cambragol
You can use nifskope to open the .nif that the texture is being applied to. Then click on part of the nif and choose 'Texture: Edit UV". That will at least show you how the UV is lined up on the texture. You can also export UV's as outlines from Blender. I don't know off hand, but a search on Google should prove fruitful.
