DavitosanX
Hi everyone! I'm been a fan of the Elder Scrolls series since Daggerfall, and I've always had an interest in modding. I tried my hand years ago making levels for Doom and Quake (yeah, that many years ago :D ), but I never got to share any of my work. Since Oblivion is a recent game, I suppose there are still a lot of people playing it, so I decided to give the construction set a try. After a few days of screwing around with it, I think I'm getting the hang of it. My first attempt at modding will be a new quest, which will ultimately reward the player with enchanted ebony armor. A few books and notes will guide the player to a tomb, where the treasure is hidden. I made a "trailer" with Movie Maker, and I'd love to hear comments. Here's the video:
Nealus
I don't like how you did the lighting and that this ruin looks like vanilla one. Try to implement something really interesting and unusual.I can send to you my unfinished ayleid dungeon as an example. Mod is on russian, but that isn't important, I suppose. PSI tried to mod Doom once, too :P Edited May 20, 2011 by Nealus
DavitosanX
Thanks for the feedback. Of course I'd like to see your mod. I appreciate the criticism, but actually the two points you bring up are actually the ones I'm emphasizing in. I want very little light, as to create a scary atmosphere and... Each candle is lit by the trapped soul of a warrior killed by Quintillus. Also, the playing experience is a lot different than what the video shows (I'm not a great video editor :S) I'm using vanilla ruins for maximum compatibility, but I'm trying to use them in new ways. Thanks for the opinion. Edited May 20, 2011 by DavitosanX
bben46
Looks like you are off to a good start. I see the lighting as a feature that sets your mod off as different from others. Here is a hint - the spoiler tag that actually hides a spoiler - and allows a user to click on it to see it - is in the 'other styles' tab in the upper left - and when implemented will look like this Hidden text

DavitosanX
Hey Nealus, I tried to download your mod, but the link takes me to a site in russian, and it tries to install some toolbar or something. Google translate can only take me so far, so I'd rather not navigate too deeply in such places. Thanks anyway.
Nealus
The problem is that I don't know any good english-languaged file hostings where you do not need to download a special downloader, toolbar, or wait for a couple of minutes. If you give me a link, I'll upload file there for sure.
