Continuous lag, weird water.

I would be real interested to see what your system and video ram usage look like after play a bit.

 

As an experiment..... when the problem starts manifesting itself again, go inside somewhere, open the console, and type in:

 

PCB

 

and hit enter. It might take the console a bit to respond, depending on how much stuff it has loaded..... Then, go back to where you were, and see if the problem hasn't resolved itself for a time.

 

Ah... I've typed it but it didn't appear anything in the console, actually the console recognized it but it didn't seem to do anything. Oh, and you might've understood the issue in the wrong way, it isn't in a specific cell or anything, it is all over Cyrodiil, even inside dungeons and stuff, the lagging is continuous, it's like graphics lag, like if my computer didn't have the right specs to run it correctly, but it does. here's my specs in any case...

 

Video - nVidia GeForce 9800 GT 1 GB

RAM - 4GB DDR3 Kingston

CPU - Intel Core i5 750 QuadCore 2.67 gHz

MotherBoard - ASUS P7P55D

 

Erm... how can I see the RAM activity specifically for Oblivion.exe?

Run the game in windowed mode, and have task manager running as well. that will show ya mem usage.

 

What drivers are you using for your vid card? (version.) some of the newer ones aren't so good for the older cards.... may wanna backdate them a ways, and see what happens.

I've backdated to some older versions of the drivers, it didn't seem to work, and the RAM usage was around 31% before starting the game, then it raised up to 56% with the lag and the strange graphics going on... It seems like the only reason it lags is because of the strange graphics they must add something to the graphics of the game, I dunno, anymore ideas?

Grab the 197.45 version of the drivers, and also get, and install, Driver Cleaner.

 

Uninstall your current drivers, then, reboot into save mode, and run driver cleaner. Get rid of all evidence of the "last" version of your vid drivers.

 

Reboot again..... and cancel out of the new hardware wizard, if it will let you.....

 

Install the 197 version drivers, and see if the game runs any better. (the uninstallers for drivers, including the windows "roll back driver" app, aren't the neatest, and will occasionally leave stuff behind.... this particular process will eliminate vid drivers as a possible source of the problem. If it doesn't help, simply reinstall whatever version you like.)

I did it all it didn't actually work, the lag reduced a bit but it was still non-playable, well anyway thanks for your time, its good to see there's dedicated people out there... But... I gave up, I uninstalled the game, moving on now, I guess that there's some glitches that really get you down. LOL

looking forward to play Shogun 2 Total War, maybe after some time I'll install Oblivion again, who knows?
