Moraelin
Well, I tried using companions a couple of years back, but basically the only result was that they'd run ahead and attack every raider and supermutant in sight, and either get knocked out or just steal my xp. As in, I'd get none because I didn't hurt that guy. (Of course. At the time I was busy going, "Huh?? WTH?? Where'd Bittercup go this time??") I tried setting the minimum player damage for xp to zero, but it seemed to do nothing whatsoever for enemies that I hadn't even shot at. Did that ever get fixed to be more like in New Vegas? Is there some mod that fixes it? Or am I still better off soloing it?

My companion mod lets you get XP from her kills and she won't run off and die all the time ;)
BlackRampage
If you have problems finding Bittercup all the time, you can also try this mod: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/379635-fallout-3-load-order-perfected/page__p__3120743__fromsearch__1#entry3120743 It adds a quest marker to her location after you've recruited her. (and it's compatible with this mod: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13643)
Moraelin
Oh, I didn't have a problem with finding her. She'd return after capping a few raiders. Or she'd draw their attention and get knocked, in which case she'd be easy to find in the general direction of the horde now shooting at me :P My problem was just not getting xp for it. I misinterpreted your first post. One a far more important note, I think I just found what you're looking for: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4807 Have fun!
Moraelin
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately this still doesn't solve my problem completely. I had actually tried something like that myself. In fact, I still have it around. And it works too... but only as long as I actually hit the same NPC. It's getting a little stressful to keep trying to pay attention that I don't shoot at one mutant, while my companion shoots at another. E.g., I'd go around a bombed building to clear the muties around the other side, only to watch my companion charge inside and up the stairs, and cap some dude that I don't even have line of sight to. rickerhk's companion seems closer to what I have in mind, but unfortunately it needs FOSE and, incredible as it may sound, I managed to avoid it so far. I'm majorly paranoid about executable stuff. Oh well, I guess as they say about sex and bridge, if you have a good hand you don't need a partner ;) I think I'll stick to soloing for now. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question and provide a link, though. It's very much appreciated.
