CTD bug when I get near Skingrad/Derelict Mine

Can't figure out this CTD that I keep getting. Happens consistently whenever I get near Skinngrad (usually happens right around Derelict Mine). Everything is perfectly fine, and then immediate CTD. So far all other areas of the game have run flawlessly -- I've wandered all around the Imperial City, Chorrol, etc. without any issues.

Your going the wrong way modding bro. are you using wrye bash? its an easy fast tool to see if you have any conflicts. you may also want to try tes4edit. and tes4lodgen. Boss too. Heres what a pretty freaking awsome load order looks like.

 

Just remeber you have to sort your load order manually still.

In a load order like this, you have to adjust things manually a little, like the DMRA, will override the bettercities esos, and cause the message to appear in I.C market, and with boss, it will load DMRA last, plus the 4 or 5 mods that arn't registered with boss.

 

I guess a basic rule of thumb, heres how your load order should theoretically go.

 

Oblivion esm.

weather changing esms.

Hair, face changing esms.

Race add on esms.

Body changing esms.

Worldspace changing esms. ( things that alter the landscape in world spaces like Unique landscapes. )

City changing esms.

 

Then do the same to the esps.

but somewhere in between the race esps and the body changing esps.

All added armor weapons plants etc esps.

It really helps the not crashing to know how to manually adjust your load order.

When building the bashed patch, I'm importing anything with an .esp ending. The only AI stuff I can think of that I would have is anything included with OOO, and also potentially Open Cities (guard behavior maybe?)

 

I'm thinking it may be something to do with Open Cities -- seems like out of everything, that would be the most likely cause. Will probably try uninstalling that and see what happens as a next step.

I don't crash. Better cities incorperates open cities. I know it seems tedious, but try to use TES4edit and make a merged patch. you can always delete the merged patch.

 

Just run the tool till all yer mods are loaded, then right click in the left pain and click on merged patch.

Don't trust boss to magically fix your load order. Its a great tool to do most the work, but you gotta tweak it manually.

 

OOO + MMM + Bettercities, doesnt crash the game.

 

It could even be something like try disabling your V-sync. Your rig may not go well with it. and in that spot, it could crash your game.

 

I run on a really old rig. But my settings always run on very high, and i don't crash. One major crash issue i had was V-sync. disabling that and tweaking my load order, fixed things. I use streamsave in streamline thats it.

I belive this is caused by a problem with the knights of nine mod. make sure the data was coppied correctly because this happend to me and the game would crash when ever calvary hill came into view, but i couldn't tell what it was becasue it wasn't rendering. A way to check if you are having crashes due to missing textures is travel around looking straight at the ground. If you don't crash then there you go. also I was first tiped off when i saw a slight bit of pink on the screen when it froze and then crashed out. hope that helps
