Reeko236 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 As some of you may know, if you have dual monitors oblivion will crash the second you start it up.. I've been having to disable my second monitor every time I start it.. Is there any fix for this? I am tired of disabling my second monitor all the time, it really messes my icons up. thanks a lot folks
HeyYou Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Not that I am aware of. It seems to be more Random Chance, than anything else, for who can get away with multiple monitors, and who cannot. So far as I know, there is no fix for it, aside from what you are doing now. (disable one of the monitors.)
buddah Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Well I run 3 monitors.....make sure you set the resolution to the native default resolution of your monitor when you start the game and it will not crash. main is 32 inch and two 22 inch flanking the main. Buddah
bben46 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 I have been running dual monitors for several years now with no problems. Oblivion, FO3 & NV all start & run fine with both monitors on. Using Win7 I can run a web browser on one and the game on the other and move back and forth. I think it may have something to do with what video card you use. Mine is a Nvidia GTX 260.
EmuBat Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 I run dual monitors, I simply made the game run windowed and it works fine
DavinaJo Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 There is a way to allow Oblivion to run with two monitors full screen, but it requires that you edit the INI files the line to look for in the ini file is iAdapter and change it from 0 to 2 it took me a few minutes of tweaking but it works. PS Oblivion still only runs on the main monitor but at least you still have both of them active.
rgx02 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Download Game companion (from the nexus oblivion), it will make your game run in fake fullscreen mode and probably solve your problem.

All I can find is "disable a monitor it's the only way" crap, which is completely out of the question. I have two for a reason and would like to keep two. Help me out?
Deleted3619564User Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Oblivion crashes because is not able to activate the vsync if the monitors are in a wrong sequence. You can find the solution here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1324365-screen-tearing/. The problem was in skyrim but you can apply the same solution be ause the source of the problem is the same.
