laochra
Well to be honest, Im considering making a mod which as the title suggests adds more raiders. The reasons I want to do this are as follows: 1: Make the strip live up more to its Image of a Haven. - The strip is a fortified paradise. Everyone outside New Vegas wants in, but it can't be just the casinos. The only large group of raiders is the Fiends and they don't try attacking the strip either. 2: Enlarging the Gangs.- We barely hear of the Scorpions. The Jackals and Vipers aren't in the game much. The Great Khans were the biggest tribe in New Vegas were is the evidence of this? I want to enhance to khan settlement, I know a lot died at bitter springs but not them all. 3:Highlight the weakness of the NCR.- The NCR is under heavy scrutteny for stretching itself to thin but we never really see them in open battle. Also they haven't taken all of the mojave so it Makes use of the NCR hiding in their big fortresses, to hide from conflict. 4:Make the game harder.- Raiders don't have to be tied down to using low level weapons they can be using power armour etc like the raiders in the capital wasteland. The game won't be a cakewalk when you get your favourite stuff. High levels with lots of health, but loots of great loot! 5:Have the Center of the map dominated by raiders, a stronghold if you will [not as many death claws] The NCR never goes there, just seems more believable IMO. The question is, Does anyone think its a good idea?
Talonmaster812
Well to be honest, I think one of New Vegas' problems is a lack of enemies in the game. I don't just mean the density of the enemy mods, but the places that you encounter them. A well done mod that adds an enemy as aggressive as raiders would really help towards fixing this problem. My thoughts on your reasons are as follows: 1: I always thought the Strip was pointlessly safe. There are pretty much no enemies in sight other that the Fiends, but they are fighting the NCR primarily. Having raiders attack the settlements surrounding the Strip would be pretty cool. 2: As long as it is done right, this could be a nice addition to the Mohave. It just depends on where you place them as well as how many of them you place. The Lore says those gangs got their asses handed to them and it would feel kinda wrong for them to be out in numbers or around any large NCR bases. 3: This is similar to my thoughts on #2. If you put the new Scorpions, Jackals, and Vipers away from the NCR forces, but still near the roads and settlements it would make it seem like the NCR can't handle the current situation. 4: One of my other problems with New Vegas is that it was way to easy once I hit around level 15. This could also go a long way towards making the game better. 5: I have actually made several different raider forts in the geck. However, placing the fort near the death claws would defeat the purpose of the raiders being there because they would have no traffic all along the road. Black mountain takes up a good chunk of space too. Any lower and you would be bumping into the BoS and Powder Gang. I would suggest placing it somewhere around Novac, perhaps near the Legion so the NCR have no choice but to stay away. That is just a thought, there are plenty of places a big raider fort could go. One last thing. All of these are good ideas but it would be hard to make it all in one go. I would either ask for help on different things of focus on a single thing at a time (Making a fort, beefing up the Vipers, Jackals, and Scorpions, or have raiders attack Vegas, not all at once). However you wish to make your mod, or even if you decide to not make it at all, I wish you the best of luck.
xRagezZx
I definitely have to agree I'n new Vegas they didn't put more raiders in-game like fallout 3. Fallout 3s raiders were basically I'n any unpopulated area making the game unexpected not knowing were you will discover and what faction will be controlling it. So if you did put random forts across the Mohave it would make it more challenging
laochra
Well Ive already started making some high level hard to fight raiders, mainly in areas north of the Strip at the moment, Tumbleweed Ranch and the surrounding area. I would like to build it up as a Evergreen mills type area. I agree with the fact that the game gets to easy and I want to keep the player on their toes. xRagezZx
You also should add a few quests for the strip like defending it from raiders with securitrons following you or open warfare against raider it would make a difference to the amount of options you would have like go I'n guns blazing, sneak round ambush them from back it would make a hell of a difference to the difficulty of it.
