I've tried everything that has been suggested so far here, and my mod load order sounded very similar. I thought maybe the problem was FWE, and so I installed a bunch of different mods to try and recreate only what parts of it I needed, thinking it might help the problem... but it did not. Strangely enough, if I disable half my mods, the freezing goes right away. I can play for hours but the game is so bleak and despirate that way I can't stand it. So one by one I add mods back in, start again, play for hours and it's fine. Then blammo, after eliminating every single mod from IT being the cause of the crash, once I get back up to a certain NUMBER of mods, it doesn't work any more. It's very strange, as I tried disabling the big mods first and it had no effect. So it couldn't be a memory leak issue, could it? Heres my list. But the problem (and I hope, the solution) seems to be the same. I've gone through the list and eliminated, as I stated, every mod from the list as being the problem INDIVIDUALLY. I took out EVE initially thinking it might be the problem, but it wasn't. I thought that was it because the problems started happening shortly after I installed EVE. Removing it let me get out a door instead of CTDing, but then so did removing FWE, so I removed EVE and thought I had fixed it. But then the hard-freeze bugs reared their ugly freezing. So I updated all the drivers in my computer to the latest versions. That seemed to work fine, except after a while they came back... only now they were error box CTDs again. Edit: So looking at the list, the only two mods we really share are MyDog and XDW. I know it's not Dynamic Weather, though I've suspected it was since it's such an ambitious thing... but MyDog I haven't tested out for crashiness yet. The problems I am experiencing got WAY worse when I tried going to retrieve the doggie. In fact, I've never gotten there due to the instability (and now testing new FWE replacements... which is kinda fun). Let's try starting a new game without MyDog and see how it goes.Actually yours might be a lot simpler. Why? well, the "James Invisible wall bugs remove.esp should be all the way down in your load order. Second, that's an outdated version. Please download the newest version. (the one meant for modded Fo3) Also, I suspect you run Masterupdate whenever you install a mod? If so, please tell me you don't let it "masterupdate" the aforementioned mod. :unsure: See, if you do that, it will inevitably crash. Turned off each mod one at a time and tested it, thought I had it pinned on darnified ui mod, but once I put everything back in it still crashed after 20 min (at that testing spot, lots of action going on). <sigh> Guess last thing to try is the GOTY edition. Is the steam version mod friendly?Well, that makes two of us. I'm getting pretty stumped on this too.I'll update asap if I do figure out some sort a solution...You know, there are actually some who, for some reason, cannot play a modded FO3 at all. Don't known why though. Something to do with their rig? Anyway, hopefully you're not one of those. Do does the vanilla game run anyway? (Apologies if you already posted that) And yeah, as far as I know, the steam version is mod friendly too. I hadn't seen that "Big Kaluha Revisited" thing and if I did figured it was for a mod named Big Kaluha ;) But suppose I once master updated this file, then masterrestored it before. I had the old version nestled into my Tweaks compilation and didn't know you shouldn't master update it. I read the author's info and he said something about it injecting into your registry! Gonna give it a go and try to start a new game without MyDog, and see how it goes. I'll post an update after I try it out. @Jeoshua Ya I got my game down to only FWE being enabled, and the game played fairly well, but it was sooo bare! Then I removed MyDog.esm And played for 3 hours, straight. I don't know why and it could be a fluke since I recompiled my merged file afterwards, but there you have it. At least in my case, this seems to have been the key to the problem. It also revealed that I'm getting under 5 fps in the middle of Megaton due to some mods I have installed there. One is spamming things into the console windows like "RESETED" and "MELEE ATTACK ANIM". I'm looking through Fo3edit right now to find the offending culprit. Okay apparently that one was the follower reset module, and looking through the code that wasn't it at all. The slowdown happens when looking at any NPCs, live or dead. And apparently, I had 3 copies of a script meant to make you slow down when backpedaling running at the same time. I'm currently doing some cleanup on all these mods to try and lessen the load. Does anyone know if Arwen's scripts NEED to be running every 1/20th of a second (0.05 quest delay... that's what that means, right?) I think I mentioned when I first created my help thread. I tested almost the exact same mod setup on the other computer (difference is it uses an Ati 5770 and Quad Core), and it can play pretty well with minimal crashes. But the MyDog mod MIGHT be the culprit, because my other computer never had it installed. So the last thing I'm going to try is to start a new game without MyDog. This is the only thing I have not tested yet. I noticed that with MyDog, I get a RIDICULOUS amount of spawns for some reason, and I only have MMM setup to have 1-3 increased spawns (I'm talking like fighting 10 super mutants, plus floaters and abominations at the entrance in the Museum area, the first cell too).
