Best Mods and Settings to Boost FPS?

Ready for another play-through of Fallout 4, but this time, I'd like to go for a sharpshooter play-style, which means the low Frames Per Second performance of last time won't cut it. What are some great mods for boosting them without TOO much impact on the visuals, and what are some smart game settings in the graphics options to help it along further? Thanks in advance! XD

I dunno what your system specs are, but for me I run this game on my laptop when I'm out of town. I forget the exact CPU, but the GPU is a GTX 960M. The biggest modded impact on performance what the Texture Optimization Project. All it does is reduce some texture resolutions from 2k and 4k to 1k. Unless you're standing an inch away from surfaces you won't even notice the difference, the game still looks the same. I've also played around with FPS dynamic shadows on my desktop but didn't notice any major fps change. My desktop is better than my laptop by miles though. One other mod that might be useful for low-end systems is Insignificant Object Remover which gets rid of small scenery items (like small rocks).

As for settings though, the one that had the most impact was shadow distance. If you're having FPS issues, turn that one down first.

Turn god rays to low or turn them off, any other setup will hit your fps. Here's nividia settings comparison:

As for the actual mods get Vivid Fallout Landscapes - Trees - Rocks (performance or best choice option). Looks better than vanilla and saves vram. You can install it on top of other texture mods like Texture Optimizatioan project / Optimized Vanilla Textures.

FAR - Faraway Area Reform (LOD) by SparrowPrince looks good. There's also "GRASS performance optimized 1k", but you would have to google it.

Since you won't be able to use any fancy Reshade or ENB presets get Fallout 4 Enhanced Color Correction (0 fps hit, it's just a simple filter swap).

Interiors Enhanced - Darker Ambient Light and Fog by fadingsignal will nicely hide any low resolution textures placed indoors.

so to avoid repeating what was said above, I've also noticed that a fairly simple way to increase fps is to put the computer in airplane mode (if a laptop) or just disconnect from any and all networks (if on a desktop). Newer versions of windows especially run dozens of little programs and processes in the background all the time, and disconnecting from the internet can stop a good number of these. But then again, I don't know what your set up is so I can't know if this will help any noticeable amount. however this fix is most noticeable on rigs that are either at or just above the requirements for a game.

The only downside on this would be you may not be able to earn steam achievements correctly because you aren't connected to the internet, however this doesn't matter much to most people and a steadier FPS rate is usually favorable.
