Im looking for these types of mods and was hoping you could share some insight. I also had a few questions.

Question 1.) Are martigens MMM and Oscuros OOO worth getting? I'm worried because from what I hear they are more trouble than they are worth.

2.) I'm looking for a mod that adds new challenges to the game. Perhaps something like a tougher boss at the end of dungeons. Maybe a warlord with a enchanted weapon in a cave of bandits.

3.) I'm looking for a race mod or save game for a male that actually looks good.

4.) What mods do you consider absolute necessities that you cannot play without?

Please help me out here

MMM and OOO play nicely together, and aren't too difficult to set up. (easier than a full FCOM install anyway....) They also add new content, additional quests, more challenging enemies. There are optional named bosses too, I think, but, that may be Frans..... don't recall.

Thanks for the answer, but after reading through the comments im still doubtful. Were you able to use them both bug free?

I run a full FCOM setup, with somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 mods in my load order. My game is very stable, and the general cause of crashes for me is reaching the memory ceiling...... I very seldom see a 'random' crash.

Most of the issues folks have with some of the larger mods, are installation issue, or, mistakes...... gotta read the documentation carefully, before you install a single file. Many folks run OOO, with MMM, and have zero problems. :D

Thanks very much :)

You put my mind at ease, as im very meticulous about reading the read me and following instructions im sure I can work it fine. This is the reason people who dont mod correctly annoy me tbh lol, I can never figure out if a mod is working

OOO & MMM are essential I reckon. They are not too hard to set up to work together and are pretty bug free if installed right, hence the massive following for each mod. That will give you some good bosses and monsters in dungeons and some cooler kit. I use FCOM personally but if you are just starting out swerve that for now!

I don't know how new you are so I don't mean to patronise you but if you don't have Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) you need it ASAP or you'll run into trouble. That IS essential.

As for other essential mods? I'd say Better Cities , Unique Landscapes and Deadly Reflex but, again, you might want to swerve them until you got to grips with everything.

All the best!

Dux.
