God

Simple answer: No.

Long answer: I don't believe in any form of god or higher power, and I don't see any reason to. The world works just fine without one. I believe that god is a creation of our own minds, a more comfortable answer to life's difficult questions. Death and is not a pleasant thought, so the existence of an afterlife is a better story for many people. Same thing with the lonely thought of being alone in the universe, it feels better to think that there is a god.

"Works well without one". LOL ROFL over and over. sorry. not. The world couldn't even exist without one. You can't make something out of nothing.

Maybe you should actually study the relevant science before making claims about it? It is in theory possible for subatomic particle/anti-particle pairs to be created out of nothing, though obviously it hasn't been observed.

But just for my entertainment, let's do the following proof:

Fact: God exists

Fact: Something can not be created out of nothing

God both exists and can not have been created out of nothing, therefore god must have been created by something.

(repeat infinitely for each entity)

Eventually you will have to have an entity created out of nothing.

Conclusion: Something can be created out of nothing. Therefore "something out of nothing" is not evidence in favor of (or against) god.

Pergeron Is right about Indoril's stament, you argue your point with "god". However as much of a athiest as I am, the same goes for Pergeron here, by saying the world works fine without one you assume god dosnt exist and argue your point with a opinion. While we both know full well that god in most certainty does not exist, technicaly you debated wrong there. However if you where simply stating a opionion ill leave it at that.

Yeah, but you'll notice how old a post it is that he replied to, made to an opinion-poll type thread. That wasn't part of a point by point debate, just a statement of my beliefs.
