Geralt to Iorveth

\game\1_act1\quests\q109_assassination\characters\

\game\1_act1\quests\q110_barge\characters\

 

in these folders are two replacers stored

 

1.) q110_iorweth_replacer.w2ent

2.) q109_roche_replacement.w2ent

 

and

 

3.) q109_iorweth.w2ent

 

Maybe we can do something with these files.

those seem to be tied to the right place in the story, so they're probably it.

 

If we want to play with replacing other characters, there are points where you can play as King Henselt and Prince Stennis at the beginning of Act 2... but I don't think many people wold want to play as them. :P and in Act 2, towards the endish on Roche's side, you can play as one of the assassins.

 

oh and you can play as assorted ghosts in one part of act 2, on both sides. But again, don't think many people will want to play as them, except maybe Seltkirk

So maybe we could figure out which command the game runs from which script, and then maybe try to use it on other quests (or items), the problem here is that the *.w2phase and *.w2quest files arent cracked yet...

Replacing the files for the quest does work perfectly im playing as iorweth in the stennis quest atm, if we could edit the savegames we even could make this Semi Permanent until a new script kicks in that loads Geralt again.

That's so freaking cool! I've been fooling with this all day. I was trying everything I could think if. :teehee: How do you replace the quest files? I found the q110_iorweth_replacer but not sure what to do with it.

On this i replaced the "game\2_act2\quests\q201_kings_meet\charactersq201_stennis_replacer.w2ent" with "game\1_act1\quests\q110_barge\charactersq110_iorweth_replacer.w2ent" every w2ent entry is stored in the savegame aswell and a script is shown named as isNotGeralt and isReplacer etc...

 

The main Problem atm is, that every replacer restores Geralts head and overrides the replacer head... at this moment im trying to find which model or mesh is for Geralts head, but no matter what mesh or model i remove (I extracted the whole pack0.dzip and cut it out to another folder) the head stays there (a pink and black something maybe the raw pinkbox.)

awesome!!! i wonder if there is a way to unlock his AI controlled fighting moves. I've been taking a look at some videos, and bizarrely, when you fight as him, he uses one sword, when controlled by AI, he dual wields. The dual weildiing looks awesome.

hey, are you able to do this with all of the npcs or only ones designated as replacers?

 

also, could you explain "sNotGeralt and isReplacer"?
