lucianhector
Similar to Fallout 3 I know they played a minor part, but the idea was still pretty good I think. Sorry if this is looked at as a terrible idea, just thought I'd post it anyway (:
TziporaHalevi
I support this idea. I'd prefer some human ones though. Perhaps they had gotten a hold of their own vault or something.
xRagezZx
Got to agree on this one it would be great to add another faction to the game to spruce things up a bit and also since we don't know a lot about them it would be great to have a quest that tells you why the war started etc.
laochra
Dammit people not every faction in fallout has to have its own bunker or vault! It wouldn't be feasible for the remnants to be human. They were infiltrating when the bombs dropped and ghoulified them. I don't think China [who they are at war with, Remember] could build a bunker deep in US soil without their knowledge. I say it would be better to find a building with 2/3 remnant ghouls who you can do quests for. Edited May 25, 2011 by laochra
TziporaHalevi
Well I did once write a short fanfic with a small group of say 5 chinese remnant soldiers that had managed to make shelter beneath a coffee shop built bunker. Of course the backdrop I used hadn't been hit as hard by the bombs and it was only 33 years later :/ Might not be as realistic for the chinese to have stayed hidden underground for 200 years I guess. If they kept it low-key it may have been possible. But that of course is up for debate, would also be interesting to see the same on the other side. I'd really love to see a Fallout: Beijing or something just to see how China ended up. Edited May 26, 2011 by TziporaHalevi
lucianhector
Thank you guys I really appreciate the positive views on this idea. (: Yeah I think Ghoulified Remnants would make more sense. However on Fallout 3 somebody I think made a mod where the remnants were human. The story was something like they survived in containers in a submarine, something like that which was a brilliant Idea in my opinion. And yes many factions who have survived the War tend to come from vaults, and the War would make it hard for china to establish such a technological location, but surely somewhere it could of happened, making it possible for human remnants. The Fallout 3 and NV games tend to focus more on the US side when it comes to Pre-war stories, factions, items, etc By the way do people ever actually use these ideas, or is it kind of just a place for thoughts? Sorry for me being amateur; I'm new to this Forum. And I'm sorry for ranting. ):
AveTruetoCaesar
Most people in Fallout weren't inhabitants of Vaults. Some people where able to survive if the area wasn't directly hit by Nukes. It would be impossible for EVERYONE to be a Vault descendant, only 1000 people got into the vaults, and only 17 where built to save people, the rest where part of experiments that wiped out most of the inhabitants. So the idea of non Ghoulified Chinese Remants isn't that far fetched. There was a group who where descendants of a Chinese submarine crew in Fallout 2. MajikMoshos
AveTruetoCaesar is referring to the Shi I've got an unfinished, unuploaded mod somewhere about the Shi growing in power, though all I'm good at is level design. I don't really have much time for modding either.
lucianhector
So the Shi originated FROM the US opposing pre-war Chinese Army? That would be a brilliant story for their existence in the Mojave, or at least something similar or branching off the Fallout 2 Shi And I would try and help with your unfinished Mod, but I know absolutely nothing about Modding. :\
MajikMoshos
That's okay, I'm not really in a position to organise a collab effort right now anyway.
