Creating GOfiles

So its me again, the guy that doesnt know much about anything but really wants to get into modding.

Problem i currently have is, i set up my esp file with my new custom helmet mesh (i used the yellow flight helmet as base), assigned my .nif file in the armor addon and added it along with the flight cap which is in there by default to my armor file. Now the problem is my game always crashes when i try to equip my new helmet and i was starting to wonder if the GO file which i havent replaced and which is still the one from the yellow flight helmet could be the problem.

So my question is what exactly are they good for?and how would i create one using 3ds max? Thanks in advance and sorry if anything i just said was so terribly wrong that you wanted to throw your pc out of your window, im still learning :smile:

Something is wrong with your helmet mesh.

 

Go files are the world models the game uses when the helmet or armor are dropped onto the ground and not equipped by the player or NPC's. If you still use the original Go for the flight helmet it would just use that model when dropped and not cause a CTD when equipping the new helmet.
