Tyaasei
As the title states, anyone want to help me learn how to create my own weapons and armors? I know the simple stuff, I know what meshes and textures are, I have a basic idea of what programs I need to make these things, but I have no clue how to actually go about making things. Anyway, How do I work nifscope and blender, as well as how to physcly make the things that I want. I've looked for ages but no one wants to fork over a nugget of information. I have large aspirations, but I'm starting small with an overly complex follower mod that is still in it's infancy. Thank you, and have a nice day! DixiePig
Try starting by searching for tutorials outside the context of modding: just pure "how to model in blender".There are a host of tutorials out there with titles like "how to model a lightbulb" or "how to model dragon". Usually they involve modelling something, and explaining what they are doing step by step as they go. Get one of these tutorials, open blender, and copy them as they go. The principles apply very broadly, and after one tutorial you'll be able to model just about anything. Then make your sword.THEN worry about exporting it into Skyrim. Tyaasei
I am aware of how to google, ZsoSahal. My issue is finding a decent tutorial, that is all. Many are only guides on how to export and such. Please keep in mind I am new. I'm not trying to be lazy, I'm just lost.
DixiePig
Here, like this one. This covers modelling, part 2 has UV mapping. Great place to start.
ZsoSahal
Perhaps my first reply was a *bit* terse. In my experience, its not one amazing tutorial that tells you exactly what you want to do for a specific model. Its a mix of tips picked up from a 1/2 dozen different tutorial series, that together provide a rough guide of what to do. That, and trial and error.
