Homosexuality in Skyrim

I don't quite understand the "NPCs should have a preference and not be whatever the player wants them to be" reasoning.

 

I always thought the characters that would marry the player regardless of gender are bi (already).

 

 

Then again, I do not bother with marriage in Skyrim.

Guesses are not always accurate, far from it. But if he wants a mod full of stereotypes then you're completely right, thats entirely his business. :sleep:

 

Edit: I was also curious about why you have to defer judgment about Cicero until you see him in game. Aren't you implying that there in fact are certain displays or affectations (stereotypes) that are acceptable to use in making this kind of judgment ?

 

 

How can I make a judgment about anything that I have limited or no experience of? It wasn't me who implied he was gay. :ermm:

 

Guesses are not always accurate. So we just shouldn't guess ? We just should ignore the limited information we do have ? That seems odd to me. The mod maker in this case is just trying to do the best possible job given limited information. You might as well argue that we don't know that Farkas is actually male--because he might identify as female instead. We're relying on stereotypes of maleness (aggressiveness, posture, cadence etc.). But of course it's possible that he's not actually male. It's possible he identifies as an attack helicopter.

 

But I think I understand your concern. It's not cool to have what is deemed by some to be negative characteristics associated with whole groups of people. For the record, it wasn't Uthgerd's 'unattractiveness' that I was suggesting was correlative.

Vilkas or Farkas. They are twins so nothing would be "missed" if you made one gay.

I wouldn't go changing the ones that are already set up by Bethesda to work within the current marriage system. I, however, wouldn't mind seeing other NPCs (that could have been eligible for marriage but are not) given a preference of some kind just to have something new to come across in the game.

 

Always thought that Carlotta might be open to a relationship with a female dragonborn cause she says "no man will get between her and her daughter"... leaves room for a woman, right? :P

New options would be nice. But I think that Carlotta's statement re "no man" implies that she is heterosexual.

Ya know, I had never considered the Companions as Furries before. Thats brilliant. And thats really what this thread was meant to be about, though my of mangling words didnt make that so clear.

What fetishes and kinks exist, and who's "naughty"? (aside from whats-ner-name in Riften)

Does Ysolda prefer Khajiit? Do orcs prefer other orcs, or "any port in a storm" and racial preferences like that.

It would seem pretty clear they intended his character to be gay. He's a likely unstable murderer/rapist/pedophile so I eagerly killed him off, he'll be poking no lil buttholes moving forward.
