I have 8mbs ram & use about 3.1 according to Fallout Performance Monitor.

I also use 3.8mb vram. On a 2gb vram setup you will be using a lot more ram than I do with 6gb.

See what all your executables are doing in Task Manager when the game is running.

For example the enboost executable can use lots of ram on a 2gb vram setup.

bladexdsl I have not run into problems with any game with 8gb. If I did I would upgrade. I do know that the less vram you have the more ram you will use. I have also expressed concerns in other threads that 8gb ram may not be enough if too many texture mods were added to this game.

I will say that anyone buying or building a gaming rig today with less than 16gb ram is delusional. I built my rig with 8gbs ram in 2011 & have only replaced the video card(every year).

So I don't entirely disagree with you. Not enough ram could be a possibility give the right circumstances.
