jallard
I understand character creating in Oblivion was a bit.... meh but in fallout? Cosmetology? Surely if YOU were living and trying to survive after the bombs fell I am quite sure you wouldn't be wearing make up and a nice dress amirite? The story takes place several hundred years after the initial fallout. Besides, it is a fantasy game and wanting to view a Victory Secret Model type PC while playing the game is definitely my all time fantasy. If you prefer to play with an ugly drab character than who am I to judge?!? It would be interesting to see a poll on this very subject. "Just how many gamers, both men and women, prefer the vanilla characters over characters who are more picturesque?" Furthermore, if you really want to get technical the holocaust happened in the twenty-first century, I believe, but the era depicted in the game is the fifties when fallout shelters were in vogue –during the Cold War: Hence, Vault Tech was born. I am uncertain if you even remember, as I don't know your age, but growing up during the 50's I distinctly remember two things: (1) Watching fallout shelter company commercials on TV; and, (2) practicing Civil Defense air raid procedures in school. Your darn right I want some sexy babe running around in the wasteland, armed to the teeth and wearing some skimpy armor. Yahoo!

Yahoo!Thats the point of having an opinion :P All I was saying initially was that Bethesda could have done a much better job putting together the character creator. Bioware did a fabulous job with theirs in Dragon Age Origins: and, I think Bethesda can learn from it. Still, I understand that both (or all) game developers develop their games according to their liking --more so than for the potential game purchaser. I can tell you this, if Bioware fails to improve the character creator for Skyrim they won't get a nickel from me. I'll just keep playing DAO.
