Really Confused...

Why not just ignore the e-mails and complaints? I updated to 1.4.132 and DEV_INV + DEV_HUD worked just fine for me! I do not use NewDialog, but I do use Full Dialogue Interface. No problems or CTD's! All I have are small-time bugs, like some icons not applying to some legendary weapons.

BTW, to benefit from DEF_HUD bug fixes, do we need to re-create our HUD from scratch and save it OR can the old HUD file be used?

I do hope you come back when GECK gets released! You'll be able to re-do this mod and make it like SkyUI!

Bumps!

why u cant just run game and check is there any bugs with ur old config or no?

I have seen a few links from mod pages to this thread. I hope Neanka eventually returns to continue the excellent work as the small digging I did into Flash gave me a headache :(

This thread is only available to Mod author, and I am sure a large number of users (maybe the vast majority) don't have access to it.

I'm not Mod author, I'm just user and I have access - I can read and write here.

Come on, that's not a solution. Its like saying not to update the game if its working fine. There could be bugs I have yet to come across or think those bugs aren't bugs.

No, it is. This is something that is well within your capability to check- all you need to do is launch the game. If you do come across bugs, *then* ask. It's even faster for you because you don't have to wait for a reply. You could just regen your hud anyway if you had any doubts, which is still faster than waiting for a reply.

If everyone updating pre-emptively asks questions about problems that may not exist or they can easily solve themselves that's tens of thousands of people demanding Neanka's time. You can see why this sort of thing drives modders away- you're too lazy to bother to check yourself, and when he points that out you start complaining at him. If you like a modder's work, respect that modder's time.

OK, I have a few bugs:

- When I press F5 to Quick-Save, the "[saving...]" message is not aligned properly to brackets. The background shadow of that notification is Blue and its not accurately within the [ ] brackets. There's also no way to actually edit "[saving...]" message location and size, not even when the latest DEF_HUD version is used with blank HUD preset.

- Some messages are cut off in upper right corner. I think its the messages that show when you killed some custom character. I know my Level Up message alignment goes past the visible area on the upper left corner, so maybe that is the reason. Level Up message bar is hidden, so all I cared for is having Level Up appear as close to the view-able area as possible, which requires making the Level Up bar going past the left-side view-able area.

I think you are wrong. Like I said, when Bethesda releases patches, do you not care for downloading them or at least checking out the bugs new patches fixed? By your logic, unless one experiences problems with the game, one should not bother updating or checking out release notes for whichever update. This is also why Mod Pages have a "Changes" section, which can either be vague or detailed. Obviously we can't expect the same level of details from mod-makers because unlike Bethesda, they don't owe us anything, but plenty of modders release detailed notes... Modding is hard and I bet Neanka doesn't get nearly as many complains as other modders, who keep going regardless.

...how on earth does that follow?

The problem here is that if you ran into any problems, you had all the tools you needed to fix them yourself. But you couldn't be bothered to even check if there were problems.
