They put so much faith into that one word. Yeah, its gotten to the point that there is very little difference between the two major parties on a fair number of issues, that I had thought would be changed dramatically by obama. So much for that thought. I don't have a clue who I am going to vote for in 2012........

I'm a Libertarian so I typically don't side with one side or the other but I have been watching one candidate closely: Hermin Cain.

He prints a lot, but, what he prints, if far to general. He makes sweeping statements, that can be interpreted in a multitude of ways. To me, he reads like a republican...... (and I really don't agree with a fair bit of what they have to say.) I will agree with him, that things need to change, and a couple of his ideas are spot on, but, for the majority of it, I cannot agree with him. Especially the "faith" part, of "Faith and Family". Government, and religion should be two entirely separate entities, that do not cross paths. I am of a mind that if some organized religion wants to have paid lobbyists in washington, they can pay taxes for the privilege.

Well there really is no other candidate that will truly be detached from all major parties, that has a realistic chance at winning. That's the way it always has been. Even if a strong third party candidate came along the Republican establishment (Meaning the guys in Washington, not necessarily the voters) would kick, scream and stomp their feet till election day, most likely causing a 1996 kind of election. If that happened it would probably insure Obama a 2nd term. I don't know. I'm not a pro at this sort of thing. The only reason I'm talking about this on the Nexus Forums is because the Admins do such a good job at filtering out the idiots.
HeyYou
I don't think any third party candidate has a snowball's chance in hades of winning anyway, simply because of the way elections work here. Not to mention, that in the past, the only thing that a third party candidate has accomplished, is siphon off votes from the other candidates.... not necessarily proportionally, and not always to a good end result. The last third-party candidate that had even a minute chance of winning was Perot, but, he dropped out, then rejoined, losing his credibility in the process..... he has ran several times since then, but, was all but invisible...... He doesn't stand a chance either. In the end, it will be either Obama, or, some republican.... although, the R party seems to have some serious issues right now..... Newt just lost his entire command staff. Oooops. Guess he isn't gonna make it.

I don't care for the direction Obama is taking, and the republican ideas for whats 'good for america' doesn't fit my views, at all...... There are some aspects that I agree with them on, but, those are few and far between. There isn't going to be a democratic primary, as Obama is gonna be 'it'...... god only knows who the candidates are going to be for the other guys...... voting for an independent is unfortunately, a waste of a vote. Of course, in my opinion, our votes don't matter anyway. (read back on some of the shenanigans of the 2000, and 2004 elections......)
